Ruth Burmann

Salzburg, Austria

 

studied Music- and Dance-Education at the Orff Institute, University of Mozarteum in Salzburg and Dance and Choreography at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Further education in spiral dynamics. Since 1993 she is working as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer for modern Dance. Since 1999 she teaches dance at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg.

 

Themes of curriculum:

In the Dance Improvisation Classes Ruth Burmann focusses on the activation of the bodily-kinesthaetic, musical and spatial intelligence and leads the participants to create their own little dance choreographies. In her dance technique her emphasis lies on the main movement skills: walking, running, falling, turning and jumping. Starting from these basic movements she builds a bridge to modern dance sequences.

 

 

SPECIAL STUDIOS AND ATELIERS IN THE AFTERNOON


1. Miroslava Blasekova
studied clarinet at the Conservatory in Žilina, musicology and aesthetics at the Philosophic Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava. She taught music in various music schools, primary schools, in high school and in kindergarten. Since 1990 she keeps the Chair of Music Education at the Faculty of Education, Constantine Philosopher University in Nitra. She conducts various training seminars and workshops for music schools and primary school teachers in Bratislava, Nitra, Banská Bystrica, Žilina, Ružomberok Kežmarok and Praha. She is founder and director of the Slovak Orff Schulwerk Society and author of the book Orffov Schulwerk. Principles and adaptation. (Nitra: UKF, 2011).

Content of the atelier:

Different models of elementary improvisation, such as improvisation with speech, with movement and with body-sounds to complement and extend the musical improvisation.

 


2. Robert Žilík
is an artist, a teacher, a musician, an enviromentalist and a writer.
He graduated at the SUPŠ in Bratislava (majoring in stone-artist) and the Faculty of Education in Nitra; teaching qualification: the Russian language and art education.

He worked as a teacher in schools of different levels, high school and at university.

He founded and directed the design developmental atelier of children´ toys „Tilia“

Since 2001 he has been working as an independent artist in sculpture atelier in Mojmirovce.

 

Content of the seminar: Slovakia is among the countries with rich kids instruments and sound toys. It is a wide spectrum, starting with simple idiophones made from natural materials to the construction of technically sophisticated instruments and mechanisms that are similar to the musical instruments of the adults. Participants will have the opportunity to see musical instruments and such sound toys, and try to tinker yourself - to build.

 


3. Coloman Kallós

studied Elemetal Music and Dance Education at the Carl Orff Institute, University of Mozarteum in Salzburg, teached in music schools in the area of basic musical training and piano, directed music-workshops for children and adolescents, set up and expanded the studies of media didactics and documentation at the Carl Orff Institute, produced numerous
didactical teaching films and documentaries on Orff-Schulwerk and the development of Elemental Music and Dance Pedagogy, Initiator of international Courses in Orff-Pedagogy
with emphasis on Eastern Europe.

Content of Lecture and video-performances:
„The basic pedagogical and artistic meanings of Orff-Schulwerk in dialogue with innovative researches of creativity and intercultural Music and Dance Education.”

4. Marek Štrbák

studied church music at the Conservatory in Kosice, completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Music in Vienna, in Stutttgart and the Conservatoire National de Region in Strasbourg, where he focused mainly on the concert organ. Giving concerts and educational activities as organist and choir director, he works regularly with the choir of the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava.
