My family.

I'm Sveta Sladenko. I am nineteen. I'd like to tell you about my family.

We are a family of three- mom, dad and I. I live with my parents. My parents have been married for twenty-one years. My father's name is Andrey. He is 42 years old. My dad has brown eyes and black short and straight hair. He is an engineer at a Motor Plant. He is a very busy man. He is tall and strong both in body and character. By character my father is a calm man, while my mother is energetic and talkative. My mother's name is Natasha. My mom has grey eyes and black short and straight hair. My mom is the chief accountant. My mother is a woman of character, tactful and fair.

I also have many other relatives: uncles, aunts, cousins. We are all on friendly terms.

My flat.

We have a nice flat in a block of flats. Our flat is on the fifth floor of a five-storied building. It has conveniences: central heating, hot and cold running water, electricity, gas. We have a two-room flat which consists of a living room, a bedroom(which is also my room), a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet. There are also two closets in our flat. Our flat has one balconies. The living room is the largest and most comfortable one in the flat. I use my room as a study and a bedroom. It is very nice and cosy. There isn't much furniture in it. On the left there is my bed and desk. On the right there is a sofa and a built-in wardrobe. In the right corner there is a comfortable arm-chair. Beside it stands a lamp with blue shade. There are some shelves with books in my room. There is a big thick carpet on the floor. I like my room very much.

My working day.

I am a student. On weekdays I get up at 6.30 a.m. but it is very difficult to get up sp early in the morning so I get up at 11.00 a.m. on the weekends Then I have breakfast at quarter to seven. For breakfast I eat sandwiches and a cup of coffee. At 7:30 a.m. I usually go to university. It takes me 5 minutes to get to university. I stay at university until 2 p.m. Then I relax until 5 p.m. At that time I have lunch, watch TV and sometimes I sleep. After 5 o`clock I start to do my homework. After 8 p.m. I usually go out and after 11 p.m I come back home. I usually go to bed at 1 a.m.

Our university.

I am a student of Kaluga State University named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky. This educational establishment was set up in 1948. The structure of the University is as follows. Firstly, there are 9 faculties, to be more precise, 7 faculties and 2 institutes. Secondly, there are departments of two types. On the one hand, all the faculties have a full-time department and some of them have a correspondence department. The University course lasts five years. In order to enter the University young people take entrance or Unified National Exams. Twice a year the students take terminal exams, in winter and in summer. As many as 5000 students attend lectures, seminars and classes or tutorials, do labs and course papers at all the departments during the year. There are four University buildings located in different parts of Kaluga. Their addresses are: 4 Voskresensky by-street; 83 Lenin street; 26 Stepan Rasin Street and the building in the suburb of Turynino, Sovetskaya Street. The University trains teachers, psychologists, social workers, researchers, post-graduates, and other specialists who can be useful in different areas of life.
