1. In pairs, look at the photos and answer the questions.

3. Who says these sentences – Anna, Frank or Jenny? Listen and check. Then practise repeating the sentences.

4. Complete Speak Out with the underlined expressions from Exercise 3.

Agreeing: That’s right! That’s a very good point.

Asking for opinions: What do you think?

Disagreeing: You can’t be serious! I see what you mean, but it’s Anna’s body.

Expressing an opinion: In my opinion, a teacher should be a model for young people. If you ask me, you have to be crazy to get a piercing.

 

5. Circle the correct phrase in the conversations. Listen and check your answers. Then act out the dialogues in pairs.

6. In group, discuss one of the topics below. Use Speak Out and the dialogues in Exercise 5 to help you.

1. It is very important for parents and children to talk to each other, because a good conversation improves relationships between parents and children. You can also talk about their experiences.
2. If you live in your parents ' house, must help. But to live with parents does not mean to obey everything they say. My parents are not my bosses.
3. Parents should supervise their children but in moderation. Because control does not mean to choose who to befriend the child.
