GERUND. [1,p.134]

Use verb + ing: - as the subject of a sentence. Smoking is bad for you. Use Gerund after these verbs and expressions: Enjoy, look forward to, stop, love, hate, can’t bear, dislike, can’t stand, start, (don’t) mind I enjoy reading in bed. Please stop talking. - after prepositions He left without saying goodbye. These verbs and expressions (love, hate) all mean “Like or Not like”. They are often followed by –ing. I love waking up on a sunny morning. I hate getting up early.
   

Exercise 1. Put in the verbs in brackets in the Gerund or the to-Infinitive.

Example: They go on _______ (read) the book.

Answer: They go on reading the book.

a. I can't imagine Peter (go) by bike.

b. He agreed (buy) a new car.

c. I look forward to (see) you at the weekend.

d. We decided (run) through the forest.

e. She doesn't mind (work) the night shift.
