Current Research Suggests that there are Five Core Personality Traits

In the past, researchers have debated exactly how many personality traits exist. Today, many personality researchers support the five-factor theory of personality, which describes five broad personality dimensions that compose human personality:

1. Extraversion

2. Agreeableness

3. Conscientiousness

4. Neuroticism

5. Openness

Your personality can have a profound effect on your personal preferences, from your choice of friends to your taste in music, your unique personality can influence nearly every choice you make in your daily life.

When you think about people's online identities, you might imagine that most people try to present an idealized version of their real selves. After all, in most online situations you get to pick and choose the information you want to reveal. You get to select the most attractive photos of yourself to post and you can edit and revise your comments before you make them. One study discovered that Facebook profiles are actually quite good at conveying your real personality.Numerous factors can contribute to personality disorders. These factors include:

Genetics

· Relationships with peers

· High sensitivity

· Verbal abuse

· Childhood trauma

For most people, personality is instead composed of a mixture of central and secondary traits. Central traits are those that make up the core foundation of personality, while secondary traits are those related to preferences, attitudes and situational behaviors.

A psychologist who is elaborating on personality types may say, "When it comes to personalities of individuals, each one of them, can be classified or typed based on the common factors that are found at the core of each type." But how to go about testing personality types? Everyone exhibits, knowingly or unconsciously, these personality traits which broadcast, like a lighthouse, what kind of men or women we are.

Personality Types

Human behavior is not only a complex subject to understand, but it is also cursed with the element of unpredictability. Everyone tries to fathom what the next guy is thinking about or, how he or she will act in a certain environment.

The advances in the field of psychology and the deeper understanding of the psyche of man, have come up with personality types A, B, C and D. People from every walk of life, based on their behavior and personality traits they exhibit, can be grouped under one of the types. However, the world full of people of these types only, will be a very bleak place to live in. In reality, you will be extremely lucky to find a true specimen of each of these types which are described below.

Type A
The individuals that come under personality type A are of a highly independent nature. These can best be described as the bulldozers. Their ambition to leave their mark in this world singles them out. They are self-driven and know the importance of goal setting, positive thinking and motivation. If you are interested in studying a specimen this type, choose one from the ranks of business leadership. They are competitive in nature, in fact they thrive on it as if it is the fuel of their life. They are well-known for their sharpness in getting to the heart of the matter in no-nonsense and blunt terms. Individuals of personality type A are risk takers which characterizes an entrepreneurial spirit. They do have the ability to put on the veil of practicality to solve a problem as and when it is required. The secret of these successful people is that they don't balk under the requirements and necessity of change which eventually, make them what they want to be.

Type B
These people can be described as the bombers. These characters are extroverts to the soles of their boots, and think, that life is nothing else but getting under the spotlight and spell binding the rest. Individuals that fall under this category are human magnets that can attract attention of everyone in a gathering without so much of an effort. This makes them special, among the various other personalities. These people have a very engaging personality, and when it comes to conversations they are as sleek as eels and as voluminous as the Niagara Falls. Individuals can sell a fridge to an Eskimo who, after the sale, thanks all his departed ancestors and the snowman for bestowing the honor of buying something from this wonderful man. Because of their ability to get tuned in with the people, others find them a fountain of entertainment and charisma. Turn and focus your microscope to sales and marketing fields or to those people in the field of entertainment and you will find them in no time. They thrive on the interactions with the others. Your act of ignoring them or their efforts is as good as you sticking a knife in their back, for them. Not being able to attract your attention or making you sway to their tune, hurts these people.

Type C
The apt term to describe these people, is the Seekers. If you are searching for a promising heir to your microscope to bestow on, you can choose any person of personality type C. These are the introverts interested in details which separates them from the rest of the types. They could turn heaven and hell upside down or inside-out, depending on their mood, to find a fact they are interested in, before taking it to pieces in order to restart the process. These people tend to shrink from social or human interaction. Arranging facts (which include women and their behavior) around them, in a logical order is what drives these people to no end. A person of this type can live with an individual of personality type B, as happily as a meditative ton of matter with an outgoing, bubbling, jesting and noisy ton of antimatter. Big Bang? Yes, type C is as exactly opposite of type B as an electron with the left spin is the antithesis of the one with the right spin. You can find specimens of type C personified in accountants, computer programmers, etc. These people find it difficult to get out of their shell and communicate with other people, but are tigers when it comes to numbers and logic. Reserved nature is the mark of type C, and they are cautious, too. Risk taking is not a very attractive option for these people who tend not to venture into something until, they have gone over all the facts with a fine toothed comb.

Type D
These gentlemen really believe in inertia which they have no shortage of. These people prefer to stick to the trodden paths and established routines over the uncertainty of change. You will find, (well, don't train your microscope or binoculars on a stage bathed under a flood of spotlight) a true specimen of this type in people engaged as clerks. These are followers of the spent actions and executors of the direct commands. You will find them doing their best not to stretch their neck out when it comes to taking responsibility and risk. With the help of professionals in the field of personality development and through sheer power of self motivation or self-improvement, these people can overcome their handicap to some extent. These individuals, which make 21 percent of the population, are afflicted by negativity such as worry, irritability, gloom, etc., and hardly feel self-assured. To avoid rejection, they avoid to open up and share their negative emotions. This causes them to suffer from enormous amount of stress which makes them prone to heart related diseases. The studies show that as many as 18 to 53 percent of cardiac patients have type D personality.

In reality, an individual is a mixture of personality traits characterizing all the types described above. Won't you agree with me that this makes men more complex, women more mysterious to understand, and the world more colorful? This is why, you have to work real hard and over a long period to know a person in-depth. However, one must keep in mind that these types are just broad classifications to follow in order to know a man tentatively. Always remember that we are dealing with 'the man' and not a watch that can be disassembled with a few turns of a screwdriver, to have a look at its innards, to know juxtaposition of its parts and to understand the dependencies that exist among its parts, then, thus fortified, start plotting and calibrating its behavior to fulfill our needs.

Temperament vs Character

What, we might ask, is this thing called "temperament," and what relation does it have to character and personality? There are two sides to personality, one of which is temperament and the other character. Temperament is a configuration of inclinations, while character is a configuration of habits. Character is disposition, temperament pre-disposition. Thus, for example, foxes are predisposed -- born -- to raid hen houses, beavers to dam up streams, dolphins to affiliate in close-knit schools, and owls to hunt alone in the dark. Each type of creature, unless arrested in its maturation by an unfavorable environment, develops the habit appropriate to its temperament: stealing chickens, building dams, nurturing companions, or hunting at night.

Put another way, our brain is a sort of computer which has temperament for its hardware and character for its software. The hardware is the physical base from which character emerges, placing an identifiable fingerprint on each individual's attitudes and actions. This underlying consistency can be observed from a very early age -- some features earlier than others -- long before individual experience or social context (one's particular software) has had time or occasion to imprint the person. Thus temperament is the inborn form of human nature; character, the emergent form, which develops through the interaction of temperament and environment.

I want to emphasize that temperament, character, and personality are configured, which means that, not only are we predisposed to develop certain attitudes and not others, certain actions and not others, but that these actions and attitudes are unified -- they hang together. Thus, the Artisans base their self-image on graceful action, bold spirit, and adaptability to circumstance, these three traits evolving together of necessity. Furthermore, these three traits, developing together as if out of a single seed, preclude the emergence of a self-image based on, say, empathy, benevolence, and authenticity, which are characteristics of the Idealists. In the same way, the Guardians base their self-image on reliability, service, and respectability, these three traits emerging together as a unified structure of personality. And again, the unfolding of these three traits together weighs against developing a self-image based on ingenuity, autonomy, and willpower, which is characteristic of the Rationals.

Art

Art is the creation or expression of what is beautiful, especially in visual form. Drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, music, ballet belong to the fine art». Really when something is extremely beautiful or has great cultural value, we say: «It's art».

The twentieth century has given the world cinema. For a long time there have been disputes whether the cinema is an art or just an entertainment. Nowadays the cinema is considered one of the main contemporary arts. Not so long ago people went to cinemas frequently, but now we prefer to stay at home and watch video films and TV. Maybe cinemas are no longer as popular as they used to be but films will always be one of the best entertainments for people all over the world. Speaking about art one should not forget about music, especially classic music. Outstanding Russian composers make all the world admire their music. It's almost impossible to find a man who does not know Pyotr Ilyich Tchaicovsky, Michail Glinka, Nicholai Rimsky-Korsakov — the famous composers of 19th century, and Sergei Rachmaninov, Sergei Prokofiev and Dmitriy Shostakovich. The most famous ballets «Swan Lake», «The Sleeping Beauty», «The Nutcracker» and not less famous operas «The Queen of Spades», «Eugine Onegin» are still excellently staged and performed not only in Russian but in many greatest theatres in the world.

Russia is famous for its architecture. The real jewel of architecture is the Moscow Kremlin with its cathedrals, towers and red brick walls. There are also a lot of museums and galleries in Moscow. The most famous gallery of Moscow is Tretyakov gallery, it reflects the whole history of Russian Art. It has a rich collection of early Russian painting including famous icon. The world famous «The Trinity» by Andrey Rublev is exhibited in the gallery. St.Petersburg has great number of real masterpieces of architecture of different styles and is definitely worth visiting and being admired. Russia is rich also in young talents, new Russian culture is forming. We can hear new voices in music and poetry, new canvases of modern artists, great actors and film directors. All of them will make their contribution into Russian Culture and Art.

The most important form of early Russian art was the icons. The word icon means image in Greek. Icon is the religious pictures of Christ and Saints on wooden panel. They decorated churches, mostly placed on the iconostasis. In Russia the finest icons were produced from the midforteenth century. In that time a specific national style icon painting was formed. Russian icon painting reached the highest point of its achievement in the works of Theothan Greek, Andrey Rublev and Dionissy in the mid-15 century. Andrey Rublev is a Russian greatest iconpainter. In 1408 he was engaged on the murals in the Cathedral of the Assumption at Vladimir when he also produced his version of the icon of Vladimirs Virgin. And well known cuch icons as Спас and Троица which was found in Vladimir. A.R.s icons is expressed a distinct filling of harmony, deep spirituality, grace and the beauty of the colors. Rs works is one of the greatest creations of medieval Russian painting.

Art has always been occupation for the few, but has been admired by many. I really enjoy everything that is beautiful. I like painting, sculpture. I am fond of music and theatre.

There many arts in the world, but the most popular are: literature, music, theatre, cinema and others. Every person has his or her own favorite art.

Music has always fascinated people. It touches their hearts and makes them laugh or cry. Music can be heard everywhere. Nowadays there are a lot of musical genres: classical music, rock music, pop music, club music and others. I can listen to any genre of music. It depends on my mood. When I am sad I listen to classical music. When I am happy I like listening to energetic, fast music and hard beat. However, some people listen to one kind of music only and they listen to it no matter what mood they are in.

There are a lot of wonderful works of literature-Famous writers and poets created a big variety of poems, stories and novels that are read over the world. Russian poets and writers like Pushkin, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky are famous all over the world. Their works are translated into many languages.

Theatre is a popular kind of arts, too. There are a lot of theatres in Russia, but most of them are situated in Moscow. The Bolshoi Theatre and the Maly Theatre are world famous. If you like opera you should go to the Bolshoi Theatre. The tickets are rather expensive though. The Maly Theatre stages dramas and plays based on classical novels.

I am a theatre-goer. I prefer going to drama theatres. I do not like opera and ballet. Not long ago I saw Uncle's Dream by Dostoevsky in the Vakhtangov Theatre I liked the play a lot. The decorations were rich and the famous actors played very well. There was a storm of applause after the performance.

Nowadays theatres are becoming less and less popular, and cinema has got big popularity instead. There are a lot of cinemas in Moscow: modern and old-fashioned, cheap and expensive. Modern films are full of audio and computer special effects and people go to the cinema to enjoy them. The so-called home cinemas have appeared lately. More and more people buy modern TV-sets with large flat screens and special sound equipment and watch films at home.

My favorite art is painting. I enjoy going to art galleries to look at paintings. I think that this type of art will exist forever. Artists express their feelings and emotions in their paintings. There are a lot of art galleries in Moscow, but the most famous one is me Tretyakov Gallery. It has large collections of paintings by Russian and foreign painters. My favorite painting is landscape. I think that Russian landscapists are the best in the world. I love going to this gallery when I have free time. One of my friends draws very well she is going to enter the University of Arts to become a professional artist. But I think that amateurs are the best artists.

Unfortunately I do not have any talent for this or that art. I used to sing in childhood, but then I gave it up. I think that arts are not for me.
