Introduction.

Tourism is increasingly widespread and complex, and sophisticated management is therefore required to realize its full potential as a positive and sustainable economic, ecological, cultural and social force. (Neil Leiper 2004)

The most important reason for the attracting of tourist is increasing of income. More and more countries are improving their infrastructure, learn foreign languages ​​and present everything that tourists asking for. Moreover, tourism is advantage not only from the economic point of view, as well as for the exchange of cultures of different countries.

The objective of this academic paper is to show close relationships between tourism and other areas of life, such as economy, environment and socio-cultural life. This essay introduces such things as tourism system and all its components, as well as the positive and negative impacts of tourism

Main definitions.

There are a lot of different definitions of tourism.

Torism may be defined as the sum of the process, activities, and outcomes arising from the relationships and the interactions among tourists, tourism suppliers, host governments, host communities, and surrounding environments that are involved in attracting, transporting, hosting and management of tourists and other visitors. (Leiper 2004)

Also, Tourism - temporary, short-term movement of people to destinations outside the places where they normally live and work and their activities during the stay at these destinations. Much of this movement is international in character and much of it is a leisure activity (Burkart and Medlik 1974)

Tourism is a study of man away from his usual habitat, of the industry which responds to his needs, and of the impacts that both he and the industry have on the host socio-cultural, economic, and physical environments (Jafari 1977)

More than that, one of the main parts of tourism industry is tourist. Tourist - a citizen which is attending a place of temporary stay, for health, educational, professional and business, sports, religious and other purposes for 24 hours to 6 months in a row, or spending at least one night.

It’s compulsory to introduce the meaning of tourism system. The tourism systems are the arrangement of people, places and organizations in particular roles and it is named as a geographical extremities. Many of the tourism systems are modeled as arrangements of five common elements which are interactive to environments. Let’s pay attention on model of one of the influential tourism scholar Neil Leiper. His tourism structure contains five elements: Tourist generating region, departing tourist, transit route region, tourist destination region and returning tourist. Let’s have a look at diagram 1.
