Sport plays a great and important role in our life. If you want to be healthy and keep fit you must go in for sports.

Doing sport gives you a lot of advantages. It gives you physical exercise, you spend a lot of time in the open air, you meet people who enjoy the same sport. You can spend your spare time with them and have fun. So, sport gives a lot of opportunities to have fun and make new friends.

If you really keen on sports, you will probably travel a lot. Players go to other cities a lot, so as spectators. Some people prefer an arm-chair sport. They love to watch sports on TV. They can see lots of sports that they cannot see in their own city.

When doing sport, you learn new skills. It’s very exciting! At first you can’t do something, and then, one day, you can do it! Success is good for people. It makes them self-confident.

There are winners and losers in sport. And there are winners and losers in life, too. So sport can prepare people for life. It can help us to overcome problems and to help other people.

The proverb says: a sound mind in a sound body. If you do sport, you feel great. It is good for our health. It is necessary to go in for sport regularly, then it does our health good, gives us joy, pleasure and satisfaction.

Physical training (Physical Education) is an important subject at our college. Students have PE lessons twice a week. They run, jump, play volley-ball and basket-ball at the PE lessons. If the weather is nice, students have their PE lessons at the sport grounds near the college. It’s fun to have lessons in the open air.

A lot of different competitions are held in our college and a great number of students take part in them. There are many sport sections in our college. You can attend tennis, badminton, football, basketball or athletics sections. If you are not keen on team sports and like a quiet activity, you may go to a swimming pool. Swimming is great for every part of your body, so it’s a perfect way to exercise.

Many sports clothes are great fashion. So doing sport can be a reason for looking good! That’s why many girls do aerobics.
