Do/Make

Как вы скажете: «Я делаю работу по дому» - I do housework

«Мой телефон сделан в Китае» - My phone was made in China.

Почему вы использовали два разных глагола?

В английском языке do используется обычно, когда мы говорим о действиях в широком, общем смысле. А make – когда говорим о чем-то, сделаном руками.

I did a lot of things yesterday. / I made a lot of cakes yesterday.

 

Кроме того, существует много устойчивых выражений.

 

    DO an exam / a test (сдавать экзамен/тест) a course (проходить курс) homework /exercises (делать дом. работу/упражнения) the dishes (мыть посуду) (somebody) a favour (сделать одолжение) housework (делать работу по дому) shopping/cooking (ходить по магазинам/готовить еду)     MAKE a mistake (делать ошибку) an appointment (договориться о встрече) a phone call (позвонить) a list (составить список) a noise (издавать шум) a bed (заправлять постель) a mess (навести беспорядок)

 

But: take a photo: делать фотографии, снимать
