Revenge

1. Who wants revenge and why?

a. The creature wants revenge on Frankenstein for tearing apart his perspective mate.

b. Iago is convinced Othello is sleeping with his wife and wants Cassio’s position

c. Victor wants revenge because the creature killed his whole family (nearly)

d. Othello wants revenge on his wife and best friend because Iago manipulated him into believing they had an affair

2. What revenge do they take?

a. The creature kills nearly all of Victor’s family

b. Iago manipulates Othello to make him suffer from jealousy

c. Victor devotes his life to hunting the creature

d. Othello kills his wife and demotes Cassio

End result on the person who exacted revenge

a. The creature sets himself on fire faced with guilt for the murders he committed

b. Iago is caught in his web and given to Cassio as a slave facing a fate worse than death

c. Victor dies of cold and malnutrition after his creature chases him into the Arctic Wastelands

d. Othello kills himself because he cannot face the guilt of his wife’s death

Obsession

Playing God

a. Victor needs to feel worshipped

b. Society wants to create a utopia

c. Victor is in such an arrogant mindset that he ignores the scientific method and isolates himself

d. Society puts efficiency before ethics and denies embryos oxygen

Fitting In

a. Creature is abandoned by his creator because of his appearance

b. Bernard wants to fit in so badly that he would do almost anything including forcing his friends to do something he doesn’t want to do

c. Society alienates the creature because of its appearance even when it is good to them

d. Bernard realizes he was used however still desperately seeks to be a part of society

End Result

a. Victor dies being unable to cope with malnutrition and cold because his creature lured him to the Arctic Wasteland

b. Bernard is unable to fit in and is thus cast away from society (exile)

c. Creature kills himself as he can no longer face his alienation

d. Society and its controllers are aware of the inherent flaws however choose to lead its citizens blindly

Consequences of Playing God

1. Why do they want to play God?

a. Victor is arrogant and has a God complex

b. Controllers strived to create a utopia

c. Victor has no respect for nature as he feels as if he can best it

d. Society was torn apart by war and they wanted to better it

2. Reasons/Goals

a. Create a new species loyal to him

b. No suffering, everyone happy where they are

c. Race of zombie like creatures to do his bidding

d. No deviations from common ideas or desired thoughts

Reality of the situation

a. Disregards scientific method and experiments with human cadavers, abandons creation

b. No love, no creativity, no freedom of thought

c. Abandons creature that kills all those close to him (almost) caught in a vicious cycle of revenge and dies

d. Experimented accidentally created eyeless monsters, also need to exile to preserve state sovereignty

Monster

1. What makes the society a monster?

a. Superficial and judgmental

b. Morally bankrupt and willfully blind (predestination)

c. Venetians are racist
