I. Reading
Kids may invent toys from anything: from building sets, other toys, pots and pans, old clothes and broken tools, sticks and stones, string and rubber bands, plastic, wood, paper etc.

Teddy bears were named in honour of Theodor Roosevelt, the president of the United States, because he was a hunter and there was a cartoon showing pictures of Roosevelt with a cute little bear.

Yo-yo is the toy which has been known for thousands years in ancient Greece, later in England and then in the United States.

In 1974 Erno Rubik, a Hungarian man interested in designs, invented a puzzle cube which he called a Magic Cube. After coming up with his intricate design he was wondering how, after only a few turns, the colours became mixed in his gadget creating a unique colour parade.

Often, teens complain about all the chores they have to do around the house. At times they may become even annoyed with the tasks their parents make them do. Some teens argue that they aren't suited for the chores they are given. Sometimes this may be true. For example, many of the teenagers don't like doing things instead of their younger sisters or brothers.

However, there are a number of tasks both inside and outside the house / flat which seem to be the tasks of choice for many households. The most popular chore that teenagers may wish to assign is to clean their room. This is easily the most obvious job that I am able to manage. My parents do not insist on my cleaning my living space, viewing this as a private territory but I don't like it when my room becomes messy or even dirty.

The second chore that I always take on is vacuuming the rugs. It isn't that tough of a job and does not require a significant amount of time to accomplish either, leaving plenty of time for my social activities or homework.

Another job that is included in the list of my chores is dusting the furniture. This is easier done than it sounds. Unless you have a private house, it does not take a tremendous amount of time to complete the wiping of tabletops or other pieces. It involves no special skills either.

A final task that I can handle quickly and easily is to straighten miscellaneous items. It is truly amazing how much stuff can get out of place in a home. By the end of the week, everything is everywhere.

My favourite thing to do is doing the shopping on Sundays (especially with my mum!). I don't like doing the washing up and taking the rubbish out. I don't mind working in the garden in summer. I love planting flowers in spring.

Doing different jobs about the house does more than just tidying the house. Household work builds character and pride for completing a job successfully and making the living space look clean. My parents usually reward me for a hard day's work, too. I have extra time for my leisure activities during a week then, so more time to spend with my friends. If we share our duties about the house in the family then we also have more free time to spend together.
