DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The project is born from the collaboration with the Association “Solidarietà-Muungano onlus”, with legal center in Vicomero of Torrile - Parma, constituted in August of the 1992.

Mission of the association:

· to live and share the choice of the fraternity, welcoming the other one and its values, in spirit of dialogue and solidarity.

· To promote the culture of the peace, through cultural initiatives and of search, of education, of cooperation and of information.

· To concretize the engagement to promote a culture of peace through the twinship with an Association of Goma (R.D.Congo) "Muungano Solidarité."

The workcamp is an occasion to live together friendship and solidarity. It helps to make society, and it facilitates the meeting among our populations. This is a goal that creates mutual dignity and can direct to a best future.

The association Muungano believes in the value of the small footsteps, of the service, of the listening, of the simple joy.

Africa! Because it still believes in the gift of the life, for its internal wealths that can revive the solidarity and the joy of the meeting.

Africa that walks: important changes, people that take in hand their history with courage and dignity.

Democratic Republic of Congo! Because it is sign of so many evacuees because of a new war of exploitation of the wealths and so many outcasts victims of the injustice tied up to the commerce, to politics of exploitation, to a scarce information and a misgovernment.

For this we are happy to host volunteers in a workcamp, that want to be a motive of rebeginning, that makes us grow and it allows us to give a hand to whom suffers more and has less.
The workcamp wants to be the beginning of a run for the one who want to work hard and free, to live an occasion of dialogue and discussions about the African continent.

WORK

In the morning work and in the afternoon meetings of reflection with people experienced, exchanges of experiences of young Europeans and Africans and meetings with the authorities of the territory.
Setup of the "Mercatino Millecose", place of recovery and sale of objects: cleaning and painting of the places of the "Casa Fontanili", with a laboratory of carpentry.

FOOD AND ACCOMODATION

In the project (comunicate particular food intollerance).

Things to bring: Flashlight, sleeping bag, work gloves, mask for dust, products agaings the mosquitos, products for the personal higiene, clothes for trip in mountain or sea. If you play an instrument you may bring it with you.

Documents: European health card, identification cards or passport

JOURNEY

volunteers will be picket up at the railstation of Parma.

At least seven days before departure

Telephone us to tell us with what means you will come (train, car, airplane) and above all your time of arrival at the station indicated or at the camp; we will have a way to advise the overseers that can reach you and take you to camp. If at your arrival you do not find anyone, or if the train is late or other reasons, use the telephone number indicated on the infosheet and in case of emergency look at the website www.iboitalia.org.
