Is all our hope; to teach us to be kind. That, nature's first, last lesson to mankind The selfish heart deserves the pain it feels Thou happy wretch! by blindness thou art blest,By dotage dandled to perpetual smiles. Know, smiler! at thy peril art thou pleas'd;Thy pleasure is the promise of thy pain. She makes a scourge of past prosperity, To sting thee more, and double thy distress. Beware what earth calls happiness; beware, All joys, but joys that never can expire. Who builds on less than an immortal base, Fond as he seems, condemns his joys to death. Man's foresight is conditionally wise; Lorenzo; wisdom into folly turns By nature's law, what may be, may be now; There's no prerogative in human hours. Procrastination is the thief of time; Year after year it steals, till all are fled, And to the mercies of a moment leaves The vast concerns of an eternal scene. 'Tis not in folly, not to scorn a fool; And scarce in human wisdom to do more. All promise is poor dilatory man, And that thro' ev'ry stage: when young, indeed, In full content we, sometimes, nobly rest, Unanxious for ourselves; and only wish, As duteous sons, our fathers were more wise. At thirty man suspects himself a fool; Knows it at forty, and reforms his plan;At fifty chides his infamous delay, Pushes his prudent purpose to resolve; In all the magnanimity of thought Resolves; and re-resolves; then dies the same. And why? Because he thinks himself immortal. All men think all men mortal, but themselves;Themselves, when some alarming shock of fate Strikes thro' their wounded hearts the sudden dread; As from the wing no scar the sky retains; The parted wave no furrow from the keel;So dies in human hearts the thought of death. Ev'n with the tender tear which nature sheds. O'er those we love, we drop it in their grave. Grief's sharpest thorn hard pressing on my breast. I strive, with wakeful melody, to cheer The sullen gloom, sweet Philomel! like thee, And call the stars to listen: every star. Is deaf to mine, enamour'd of thy lay. How often I repeat their rage divine, To lull my griefs, and steal my heart from woe! I roll their raptures, but not catch their fire. Dark, tho' not blind, like thee, Mæonides! Or, Milton! thee; ah could I reach your strain! How had it blest mankind, and rescu'd me! Author thinks that most people are cruel, and we should teach each other how to be kind and Nature will help us to do it.   Here he wants a justice to be done, because every bad person deserves what she or he done.   Happiness is blind and wretches can't be happy till the end, soon she will pay for her doings, moreover, her happiness is false.     She makes him suffer from his emotions and feelings.     If person leads sinful life and does not think about immortal base and what will be later, it condemns his joys to death.   Nobody can not be sure on his or her thoughts, because we try to do everything right, but later it turns out that we made wrong.   Only Nature does not act amiss, human being is nothing in comparison with the power of nature.   We can not waist our precious time, because later we will get only a small moment for lots of plans.     Every person is looking for her or his sense of life and its purpose, but it is very rarely when he finds happiness. But we should try to prove that life is not always pain and misery. But it is a hard work.     Here author describes the life of man and its cares and emotional state. Time is going and life is ending and only when you are old you think that you waist your life and did not do so many things. But sometimes we try to do some reforms and resolve our problems but death is inevitable.   We live happily till fate shows us who is major, after this we pray, try to change ourselves and solve inside conflict, but why we do not life in moral way when everything is alright?   We loose those who love us and it makes our life miserable and poor. But when person feels pain in her or his heart, man became fearless when faces with death.     Each man has his own thorn, with which he must live all the rest life, but it is not easy, it is like a real weight, which physically obstructs your living.   But sometimes we want to find the answer to all our problems, but stars are deaf to us.   It is really hard to change life, usually we do something stupid to silence out inside grief.     He is begging for rescue, his life, soul and thoughts are in sorrow. That is how the first night about LIFE, DEATH, AND IMMORTALITY ends,
