Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one”.

Slide 1.

Personally Bill Gates.

I'm a geek. Bill Gates acclaims proudly and bravely. This characteristic is the main feature of his that led him to such success.

First of all, Bill came from a very educated family and he never was poor.

School was very easy for him and he learned very quickly. It was impossible to win an argument against him because he knew so much. As a very prominent pupil he was recommended to Seatle school.

Slide 2.

Here you see the picture that explains the difference between 3 very similar concepts. Now I will prove that Gates is not only geek how he acclaims but also a nerd as a person.

1) He was addicted and fanatical from his childhood. He discovered computers in Seatle school and fell in love with them. Computing became his passion despite the fact that working with the computers of those times was really dangerous. For instance, in 1983, Paul Allen, Bill’s friend and also a computer whiz, got cancer as a result.

2) And extremely smart person. He started his business right at school times. He and his friend Paul, also a computer whiz organized a company called the Traf-o-data; that was very profitable. He also developed some programs for his school that helped him to turn out in classes with the prettiest girls. By 1973 he was offered a job to write a program to control electric power supply for the entire Pacific Northwest. And he took it.

3) Also, he was a social outcast. The majority of those who knew him say that his interests were very different from other people’s.

Slide 3.

Harvard.

In 1974, he attended Harvard. College was also very easy for him, so he tried to see how few classes he could attend and maintain A's. He spent a lot of free time playing poker or other leisure activities and programming as well.

Slide 4.

Microsoft.

Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one”.

He founded Microsoft at the time he was a student. While at Harvard he created a programming code for Altair called BASIC. He dropped out of college and started Microsoft. It developed programs for several companies (including Apple and Radio Shack).

By 1985, Microsoft went public. Before then the programmers working for Microsoft weren't paid very well and worked long hours. After it went public, everyone got rich.

Slide 5.

“If you can't make it good, at least make it look good.”

Former and current colleagues say that Bill is a very hard person to work for. He is often rude, sarcastic, and impatient when people don't catch on quickly. He has very few employees so he can keep in touch with all of them and so everyone is important.
