Text

1 am 20 but I feel much older than most other people of my age. 1 am a student but 1 also have to take care of my younger brother who is still at school.

I usually get up at about a quarter to seven, which is too late, and then 1 end up in a mad rush! For breakfast my younger brother has two pieces of toast and a cup of tea and in the meantime 1 get washed and comb my hair. Then, while 1 am pleading with him to brush his teeth, he is busy doing the homework he did not do and did not want to do the night before.

Formerly 1 used to wear make up but since my brother has begun to go to school, 1 do not have time to put on make-up any-more. Of course 1 don't switch on the radio and don't do my morning exercises to music. 1 have no time to air the room either.

On Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays my classes start at half past eight and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at half past nine. The half past eight days are absolutely terrible because my brother leaves for school at a quarter to eight, a neighbour takes him to school. I fetch him back from school with the neighbour's children - we have a rotation system.

It usually takes me about 25 minutes to get to the university. I try hard to be punctual, so from time to time when I am late, I have to take a taxi, because 1 would not like to be accused of missing classes. At half past eleven we have a

lunch break. 1 go down to the canteen to get something to eat because in the morning, I'll be lucky if I manage to drink a mug of hot biack coffee. In the canteen, as a rule, I have a sweet bun and a glass of milk or yoghurt.

My classes last till two o'clock. The way back home always seems to me longer then the way from my house to the university. It may be because 1 am tired by then. It usually takes me at least half an hour to get home. When I come home I wash up the breakfast dishes which 1 had left in the morning rush, then I make the beds if I did not have time to make them in the morning, take out the wash and hang it to dry. I have got a washing - machine, I leave it running when 1 go to my classes. Then I start cooking dinner.

Sometimes 1 am not organised enough to have the food ready for the evening meai and it means that 1 have to go shopping firstj

1 also pick up my brother from school at four, when he does not have a swimming class or chess club. Then 1 zoom off to the library to borrow books or read them on the spot to prepare for the next day classes.

As 1 do not want to become a hunchback, because of my sedentary lifestyle, I always try to squeeze some physical exercises into my busy schedule, that really helps me to keep fit.

After my supper, which is usually at about half past six, 1 go either to the swimming pool or to gym. After that I come back home, have a shower, drink a glass of apple juice and go back to my studying, very often till about midnight. Just before going to bed, I like to drink a mug of warm milk with honey or a cup of mint tea. They say it helps you sleep well. Otherwise, I sometimes spend a night turning and tossing and do not get a wink of sleep. Then I cannot function well the following morning and 1 really have to be active and full of energy to get through in my busy life.
