January 2012 Newsletter

Happy New Year to you all!
I'm beginning this year with excitement for all the projects and creative plans I have for 2012. All of which is coming your way:)
As you are aware i've been fairly quiet since my release of Red Leaf. It may seem that I wasn't doing much….but infact I was working on my biggest creation yet and that is this little guy….. Snow Bear Jack
While spending most of my time wrapped up in the wonderful world of Snowy, I also managed some cool collaborations with Morgan Page, Headstrong, Loverush UK, I sang with Iconic Band "The Church" at the Sydney Opera House and made some new musical friends along the way, creating songs that will be released sometime this year. I'm also planning on working again with my good friend Pole Folder in 2012.
In addition I have slowly been writing for my own record and i'm really excited and happy with my new songs. I'll have more news on that in the next week or so.
My quest in creating "Red Leaf" was to have a "timeless" sounding record, something to listen to and enjoy on a lazy sunday afternoon. I was lucky enough to receive amazing reviews and great support particularly when on tour with Elvis Costello…the response from the crowd was overwhelming:)
Originally my entry into the music world was electronic, beats, samples, strings and crunchy sounds! Then I moved into a softer, acoustic, calmer world with Red Leaf. My quest for the new songs I have written is to create an album combining all those sounds. I want to go back to my roots with Strings and Piano…Samples and vocal layering:) I'm excited about all the ideas I have and will share them with you shortly.
I've got a few goodies for you in this Newsletter so to begin with….
2 VIDEO's Never Seen -While I was promoting Red Leaf - I got my friends in Sydney together and we decided we were going to make our own music video for my song "Friday" (which was released way before Katy Perry and Rebecca Blacks I might add… ha!). We actually made this video before we made my "official" music video for Friday…. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! And i'm hoping to pursuade them to do a lot more music videos with me this year. My friend Justine is the MD of a big company here in the city and we cheekily sneaked into her office on a Sunday morning and filmed everything….if only everyone in her office new what was going on there before they went in on Monday morning!!
