Olga Fonda is adamant. She wants to know what FHM's favourite position is. Embarrassed, we try to fend her off with a mumbled, "I don't know," but it's not good enough. "Tell me," she insists. "Tell me! Are you a defender, midfielder or striker?"

You didn't expect Olga Fonda to be talking about football, didn't you? But then again very little about this 28-year-old model and actress is 'what you'd expect'. For example, she may look like an atypical Hollywood pretty face, but she's actually smart enough to have scored a scholarship to study Business Administration at the University of Maine (hence why she emigrated to America from her native Russia). She may play a colid, wealthy bitch in this month's humanoid robot drama Real Steel, but she's actually nice, friendly "and certainly not rich". And she may look sexy as hell in this shoot, but she actually more comfortable in Louboutins than hi-tops.

"I'm used to rocking party dressed and six-inch heels," laughs the Russian. "Because of this, the oversized T-shirts and pants were a new look for me, but I have to say I thought it was extremly sexy. I loved the jump suit and I especially loved the hot pants and cut-off top. They tapped into my tomboy side and brought out a very sexy rock'n'roll vibe in me - hence the jumping around and flying hair."

But back to Real Steel. It's out on October 14 and sees Olga play a Russian Robot owner whose fighting automatons are dominating the robot boxing circuit until Hugh Jackman's character comes along and ruins everything. "I know the plot sounds mad, but robot boxing is really fun," states the Los Angeles resident, who has also played roles in Entourage, Nip/Tuck, How I Met Your Mother and Littel Fockers. "I'd hate to go and see humans boxing, because of the blood going everywhere, but 12-foot robots fighting? That would be interesting and exiting. I'd definitely go and see that in real life."

What's that? You're a burgeoning robot fighting promoter and you want to know how you can ensure that Olga takes her place at ringside? Simple. Throw a masive party afterwards. "I'm very new to the Hollywood party scene, but I love it," admits the girl who was set for a career in banking before being discovered by a modelling agent while holidaying in LA. "When I go to parties I get to dress up, I get to meet some cool people, i get to hang out in some cool places and I sometimes get a goodie bag, what's not to like?"

What's not to like is a) Olga won't give us any gossip on Real Steel co-star Hugh "he's just such a nice, profassional, friendly and talented guy" Jackman, b) Post-Real Steel, Olga's next film appearence is in a movie we'd rather stab our eyes out than see (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Down - Part 1) and c) it's October, which means winter's coming, which means it's going to get freezing.

"You Brits don't really know freezing," grins Olga. "I grew up in the Komi Republic just outside Siberia. It gets so cold there ot four weeks each year and I can tell you that there's an easy solution to surviving winter."

And that is?

"Wear lots of layers," she smiles. "They keep you warm when you're outside and are fun to peel off when you get back inside."
