The „Ethical leadership in everyday life” is a special course offering elements of life-skills training, designed with the support of the Youth in Action Programme of the European Union.

The project is developed for young people from Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Germany and Poland, who are eager to reflect on essence of leadership in modern society and personaly for oneself, who seek to become an active participant of their communities and society and looking for new approaches and inspiration.

Leadership—what does it mean for us? Why do so many young people follow the idea to be a leader and how many of them have really reflected on its meaning? What is the scale of leadership and what is especially important for nowadays and future leaders? How many types and approaches of leadership are there and is there the only one, which is right? Does leadership include any values and what does it have in common with the responsibility? All this questions will accompany the youth exchange in interactive methodical forms and motivate people to reflect on their own behaviour, motivation, principles and prescriptions. During the exchange we want do discuss leadership realities in our countries, to find the ways to follow our deep democratic convictions in every day life.

„Ethical leadership in everyday life” - is a unique visiting course designed by International NGO «Foundations for Freedom», that has nothing in common with typical leadership trainings. It gives every participant a chance to have an honest dialogue with oneself about his/her life priorities. This course is an interactive process including discussions in big and small groups, exercises, role-plays, exchange of life experience and time for an individual contemplation and reflection.

THE COURSE OFFERS:

• Learning to listen to yourself and act in accordance to your values and beliefs.
• Practical life-skills training, like effective communication; cooperation as a strategy for interaction; efficient teamwork.
• Space for realizing and analyzing personal values, priorities and plans.
• Comprehension of a personal social responsibility, defining its borders and ways for its realization.
• Understanding the nature of development and change, motivating for making changes in your life more consciously.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE AND HOW:

We are inviting young people from Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Germany and Poland. The project was developed for Alumni of Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg and it’s Cooperation Programs, but we are also open for other applicants who are interested in the topic. You can send your online application via link.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

1) Date of the 8-days course: 29.03-05.04.2013

2) The European commission covers your food and accommodation expenses during the seminar. The course will be accommodated in guesthouse in Koktebel, Crimea. The volunteers will be cooking for us tasty food. Only 70 % of your travel expenses will be covered. It means that your contribution will be 30 % of the total amount of travel costs. The participation fee is 10 €.

3) Attending the workshop from the beginning until the end is necessary for participating in the event.

4) The course will be conducted in English.

TEAM OF ORGANIZERS: The idea of the project was developed by team of trainers of ‘Ukrainian Network of Adult Education and development of innovations’ with using the methodology of International organization ‘Foundation for Freedom’.
