On Wednesday morning he eats through nine tomatoes. On Wednesday afternoon he eats through ten slices of pineapple. On Wednesday night he eats through eleven slices of melon.

On Thursday morning he eats through twelve slices of watermelon. On Thursday afternoon the very hungry caterpillar eats through one piece of chocolate, one piece of cherry pie, one slice of sausage, one slice of cheese, one piece of brown bread and one piece of white bread. On Thursday night the very hungry caterpillar eats through one ice-cream cone, one lollipop, one bar of chocolate, one cupcake, one hot dog.

On Friday morning he eats through one pack of biscuits, one pack of nuts, one bag of chips, one bag of acorns, one pack of chewing gum, one bag of potatoes, one bag of sweets. On Friday afternoon he eats through thirteen cabbages. On Friday night he eats through fifteen egg-plants.

On Saturday morning he eats through twenty-five marrows. On Saturday afternoon he eats through thirty pumpkins. On Saturday afternoon he eats through forty different pies (cherry pies, apple pies, plum pies, mushroom pies, banana pies, …).

On Saturday night he feels that he isn’t hungry any more. He builds a small house, a cocoon, around himself. He lives inside the house for more than two weeks. Then he makes a hole in the cocoon and left the cocoon and he … is a beautiful colourful butterfly. So he flies over beautiful flowers.
