Last year I finished school and passed the entrance exams to a college Now I am a full-time first year student. Our college is a new seven-storey building. The college belongs to the oldest educational establishments of Russia. It prepares specialists for our industry. The college runs fulltime and part-time (evening) departments. It has also a correspondence course. There are three thousand students in our college. The students of the full-time department study four years. Those who do well get a grant monthly. Our studies begin at half past nine and are over at three o’clock.Each lecture lasts for an hour and a half. We have lectures and double period. From eleven to eleven thirty we have a lunch break and we go to the canteen. It is a large, clean and light room. The cloak-room, gym-hall and canteen are on the ground floor. The gym-hall has two changing rooms (for boys and for girls).There are training and sport apparatus for teachers and students.

The staff-room and the teaching department are on the first floor. The Medical inspection Room is also on the first floor. Teachers as well as students apply for help if necessary. The headmaster’s office is on the second floor.Next to it is the director of studies.

The laboratories, students, lecture- rooms are on the first, second and third floors. The laboratories and studies are very well fit our and equipped.The students study English, German, and French. The studies of foreign languages are well-supplied with different visual aids (grammar tables, pictures), textbooks, books for homereading, dictionaries and technical means: tare – recorders, books for homereading, dictionaries and technical means: tare –recorders, TV sets and VCRs

There is a very good library and a large reading – hall on the fifth floor. Many students do their home tasks in this reading- hall. Meetings, lectures and concerts take place in the assembly hall.

On the walls of the ground and first floors you can see stands with the sights of Moscow,St.-Petersburg, London,New York and Washington as well as photos illustrating the everyday life if our college.

On the second, third and fourth floors there are portraits of well-known scientists and on the walls of the fifth floor you can see portraits of famous writers and poets

The subjects in the first year are: mathematics, physics, chemistry, Russian and Russian literature, history drawing,physical culture and a foreign language.

In the second year there are maths,physics, drawing, a foreign language and some special subjects. In the third year-special subjects and a foreign language. In the fourth year the students work at their graduation work (diploma) and defend it. They become graduate specialists and are directed to work according to their assignment
