1. What have you learned from the topic/s?

I have learned a lot of things from Chapter 14. For example,, many professors expect you to go beyond your textbook to find additional information or explore related issues, and you will need to consult other kinds of sources when you do research for your coursework. Also, there are five types of other sources: Reference books, scholarly non-fiction books, scholarly non-fiction book edited collection, periodical magazine, and the last one is periodical scholarly journal. Moreover, I have learned what is the skimming and scanning, and their techniques.

2. How can you apply what you’ve learned in real-life situation or what would be the practical application of the things that you’ve learned?

In my book, this knowledge from Chapter 14 is more useful for students who studies in university or even in high school. When you do your homework or task, reading other academic sources such as reference books, periodical magazine, scholarly non-fiction book edited collection would be easier to understand the subject area. Besides, many professors expect you to go beyond your textbook to find further information or explore related issues. Also, you will safe your time by using scanning and skimming techniques.
