HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT – WHY WE BUY???

 

1. Interview a parent, guardian or neighbour who makes buying decisions for his/her family. Determine where this person most often buys the following:

Ш Groceries

Ш Gasoline

Ш Electronics

Ш A category of your choice

 

Why We Buy (5 factors)

  1. Income and Price – the amount of money consumers have to spend
  2. Status -
  3. Current Trends – Fashions is it the ‘in’ look that lures teenages and adult consumers
  4. Customs and Habits – Family, religion, community, and customs often affect consumer choices
  5. Promotion – Business advertising and promotion are designed to influence consumer spending and create a desire for products and services

Of the 5 factors that influence buying decisions, determine which factor most influences this person in their purchase of the above items. Explain why this factor is important above all others. Place your responses in the chart below:
