Summary of qualifications

 

At mean time and since 1/2/12012:

Working as Head of Fields Department & fields manager in charge of Drilling & WO operations; responsible for nearly (300) oil wells in respect of drilling, W/O, mud treatment, drilling fluids, oil wells rehabilitation, testing wells, general production operations & processing operations & facilities.

Field Training for the working engineers, technicians & new staff in general.

Consultant & technical advisor & trouble shooter for the company’s Board of Authority. This is my present job in Erbil – Kurdistan – Iraq since last 1/2/2012.

1996 till 30/1/2012: MOM (Ministry of Oil, Gas & Minerals) – PEPA Sana’a:

Petroleum Expert / Advisor preparing studies / Programs concerning increasing Oil & Gas production rates. Giving views regarding work programs and budgets prepared by Oil companies working in Yemen. Trouble shooter in the fields: Drilling, Reservoir engineering, Production Engineering and Pipe-Lines and Storage.

- Giving Courses in Petroleum Engineering, Well Logging, Equipment, Surface facilities, Down-hole equipment, Drilling & Well Completion…etc to raise standard of Yemeni Engineers within MOM – PEPA.

1963 Graduated from Iraq - Baghdad University,

BSc. Degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Participated in the following courses:

1964 A global Hydrology Course for 3 weeks – Baghdad – Iraq.

1974 Drilling practices, England, 2 weeks.

1974 Oil and Gas production, England, 2 weeks.

 

 

1978 Drilling fluids engineering and systems, applications, Texas / USA, Dresser / Magcobar, 2 months.

1981 Drilling rigs, equipments and tubular, Texas / USA, Continental / Emsco, 2 weeks.

1970-1990 Several courses in industrial safety and fire fighting, HEC, well logging, computer science, Pumps and compressors, Gas turbines, middle management and high management, Iraq /

Baghdad and Basrah, 1 – 3 weeks courses.

 

Professional experience

 

1996 up to 30/1/2012: Consultant & Adviser, MOM – PEPA Sana’a.

1992 -1995: Oil and Gas operation manager, NOC (Northern Oil Company, Kirkuk / Iraq. Responsible of;

- Oil production, pipeline transportation – via Syria and

Turkey- Dispatch and export of 1.68- 1.8 mmbopd.

- Operating Gas Systems – collection, treatment and compression of about 400 – 500 mmscfpd. of sour gas to the north gas plant – Kirkuk.

- Water injection plant of 2 mmbwpd.

- Safety and fire fighting.

- 13 units, 1.5 mmbopd process plant for treating sour oil.

- 4 units, 1.0 mmbopd process plant for same objective.

N.B. Activities cover area from south of Baghdad (Kut town) to Turkish boundaries to the north, and from Iranian boundaries, east – to Syrian – Jordanian boundaries, west.

 

- Maintenance of production facilities – such as vessels, valves, tanks……… etc.

1988 – 1992 Head of Production DPT- NOC- Kirkuk / Iraq.

- Responsible of producing 1.68 to 1.8 mmbopd, and 400 – 500 mmscfpd gas.

- Operating 8 Gas compression stations to supply gas to north gas plant.

- Production maintenance.

- Water injection – 2 mmbwpd.

- Reports to operations manager.

1984 – 1988 Chief Engineer – Production and maintenance – NOC,

Kirkuk / Iraq.

1977 – 1984 Chief Engineer – Drilling – NOC, responsible of national and contractors Rigs:

- Preparing drilling programs, trouble shooting, fishing,

completion programs, down – hole equipment, tubulars and Well logging.

1976 – 1977 Senior Petroleum Engineer – NOC – Kirkuk..

- Responsible of mud engineering and systems (Drilling

Fluids Engineering).

- Supplying mud materials, services and experience

- Including mud lab. Tests, for National and contractors rigs.

- Mud materials stock – watching: Water – base and Oil – base muds, and additives.



1973 – 1976 Senior Petroleum Engineer – Production, drilling and

W/Overs.

- Supervising contractors drilling rigs.

- Preparing drilling programs, mud programs and completion programs, cementing / casings programs.

- Preparing daily, monthly and final well reports – BPC – Basrah / Iraq. (BPC: Basrah Petroleum Co. British Oil Company – before nationalization).

1969 – 1973 Petroleum Engineer:

- Fields measurements: Pressure, Temperature, Bottoms, Fills, Sampling, etc. – BPC / Basrah / Iraq.

- Logging Witness Engineer – BPC – Basrah.

- Witnessed Schlumberger logging operations.

1964 – 1969 Water Well Drilling Engineer – UGWD (Under Ground Water

DPT) – D.G. of water projects – Baghdad / Iraq.

- Locating Well – Sites.

- Drilling Water Wells.

- Testing with pumps and air lift.

- Drilled so many wells covering all the Republic of Iraq.

- A technical paper – Using specialty polymers in deep drilling – High temperature muds – 1980 Baghdad – Ministry of Oil.

- Drilling practices – Diamond bit run in a deep well 16000 ft TD – Jabal Kund. 1980 NOC – Kirkuk.

- Translations about (165) different topics and subjects in petroleum engineering – surface facilities in petroleum industry, Gas engineering, Drilling, machinery, etc., 1996 – 2005 PEPA / MOM. Sana’a – Republic of Yemen.

 

Additional professional activities

-Trouble Shooter – North gas plant – Kirkuk – 1993. Increased LPG production by 400 tons per day, i.e., 25% increment.

- Carried out critical maintenance operations on piping and vessels in NGP-KK. Without shutting – down the plant, saving 3 days operations, 1993.

- Rehabilitation of old units 1,2,3,4 and 13 in a process plant, some units were partially damaged, and shared in building oil refinery of 180,000 b/d oil, and test – Run and operated it successfully – 1992 Kirkuk, NOC.

Community activities

Chairman of the Northern Gas Committee – Supplying natural gas (C1+C2) to power stations, cement plants, fertilizers plants and refineries in the north of Iraq. 1990 – 1995, Kirkuk / NOC.

Explanatory Introduction

Until recently, 30/1/2012, and since 1996 I was working with PEPA (Petroleum Exploration & Production Authority \ Sana Yemen) which is part of the Yemeni Ministry of Oil – Sana’a Yemen as consultant & technical advisor & for the chairman of PEPA – MOM.

 

My main duties with PEPA were:-

· The study of work program and budget and providing the technical & economical opinion about them.

· Studying the technical problems with the foreign oil companies to provide suitable solutions.

· Participation in the workshops to evaluate the difficult situations and provide suitable solutions.

· Presenting suggestions & technical solutions to PEPA’s chairman in order to improve the performances situation in the different oil companies working in Yemen sector.

· Participating with the Committees’ Heads of PEPA in order to improve the committees’ performances.

· Participation with the Joint Committees & the Operation Committees to study the technical & economical problems to offer solutions.

 

 

Training missions

First:-

Field Training: -

· Training the Authority’s – PEPA’s staffs from engineers & technicians on field (on-site technical training) in order to promote their technical level, background, knowledge and practical performance in the following aspects:-

 

1. Drilling operations.

2. Production operations.

3. Storage and transportation operations & system.

4. Oil pumping & exportation operations.

5. Gases drainage operations.

6. Water treatment operations.

7. Consultancy, advising & major troubles shooting.
