The main character wants to live a normal life and to engage with drugs. First of all he tries to find a job. He decides to be a waiter, but he needs a pair of presentable shoes, he couldn’t buy because of his addiction. So, this pair of shoes becomes his symbol of rescue, of his escape from the world of drugs and misery.

“Trainspotting”

But the main character Mark Renton tries to go straighten and to change his life.

Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo is a 1981 German film directed by Uli Edel that portrays the drug scene in West Berlin in the 1970s, based on the non-fiction book of the same name written following tape recordings of teenage girl Christiane F.The movie immediately acquired cult status (which it still retains today) and features David Bowie as both himself and the soundtrack composer, which gave the movie a commercial boost.

It is a very strong psychological drama about children in the world of drugs, child prostitution

And child crime. If you want, you can watch it, but it is a very heavy film.

Requiem for a Dream is a 2000 American psychological drama film directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, and Marlon Wayans. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Hubert Selby, Jr., with whom Aronofsky wrote the screenplay. Burstyn was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance. The film was screened out of competition at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival.^[3]

The film depicts four different forms of drug addiction, which lead to the characters’ imprisonment in a world of delusion and reckless desperation.

It is a very strong film too, and I recommend you to watch it.
