Thank you for applying to Camp UNITY Winter Challenge, scheduled for January 5^th – 11^th, 2015 in Lviv. This camp is an English-language winter camp for Ukrainian youth, organized by Linguistic School -I LOVE English- and focused on upbringing the future leaders of Ukraine. Camp UNITY is a unique opportunity for Ukrainian students (aged 12-18) to blend the traditional camp experience with educational lessons that aim to increase multicultural awareness and tolerance.

Camp UNITY will focus on multiculturalism, human rights, tolerance and leadership. Also, there will be lessons on community improvement, volunteerism, project planning, and many other interesting topics. There are a lot of different needs for the camp, so, please, be honest with your answers – only then we will be able to place you in a position that suits your personality and will best serve the kids!

Camp Unity though, is a lot more than just teaching lessons: we play different games and sports, visit some sights in the cities where the camp is taking place and have team activities and social events. We also have a fashion show, a talent show, quiz shows, some "English Movie Nights", singing camp songs, and so much more! This camp is a LOT of fun, and it’s truly inspiring to see what our campers are capable of!

1. To be 18 years or older in order to have a legal right to work with children and accompany them during the trip.

2. To be FLEX or other exchange program alumna/us (preferable but not obligatory).

3. To have previous experience of being a counselor in English camps.

What experience do you have that is applicable to Camp UNITY?

Tell us about an interesting/unique/fun hobby or ability you have that you would love to teach to Ukrainian campers as an elective. (Previous classes included music, art, yoga, public speaking, Spanish, hand-made, Mafia, board games, etc.)

Choose 2-3 topics you would be comfortable teaching: leadership, human rights, community improvement, volunteering, debate, Ukrainian cultural studies, communication skills, presentation/public speaking, multiculturalism. You can add you topic if there isn’t any on the list.

What ideas can you contribute to Camp UNITY all-camp activities? (Sports, social events, leadership games, competitions, etc). Please offer specific examples. Do you have experience and are you ready to make up lesson plans for the topics you are going to teach?
