Wolf Messing was born in the village of Góra Kalwaria, 25 km southeast of Warsaw, at a time when Poland was a territory of the Russian Empire.

As a young child he suffered from “lunatism,” a disorder believed to be caused by the phases of the moon. Messing was cured when his parents placed a tub of cold water by his bed, so he would step into it and wake up. He claimed that his psychic abilities developed in his early life.

At the age of six Messing was sent to a religious school, where he showed an incredible ability to memorize prayers but he ran away. Messing got on the first passenger train he could find, hid under a bench, and fell asleep. When the train conductor demanded his ticket, Messing picked a piece of paper off the floor and handed it to the man, looking into his eyes and willing that the man believe the scrap to be a genuine train ticket. He was successful, and arrived in Berlin with no further problems.

By the time he was a teenager he was performing to the public. According to Messing, he was able to broadcast mental suggestions in order to alter people's perceptions.

Messing said:

... It's not mind-reading, it's, like the "reading of muscles"... When human thinks hard about something, the brain cells transmit impulses to all muscles of the body. Their movements, invisible to the eye, I can easily feel.... Often I'm performing mental tasks without direct contact with the inductor. The pointer to me here is the breathing frequency of inductor, the beating of his heart, voice timbre, his walking nature etc.

The human brain is mysterious, and its complex cognitive powers are far from being understood. In the darkest years of the turbulent 20th century there lived a man who had the mysterious powers of the brain like no other human being known to history. He was a telepath, a mind reader, a psychic, a remote viewer, and a lucky survivor who avoided both the Holocaust and the death camps of Joseph Stalin. We may never know the full extent of his extraordinary abilities.

In USSR he also attracted attention of Soviet secret service and KGB. He was personally tested by Stalin and Beria, the special commission which was called by Stalin. The commission has verified that he have got 100,000 roubles (around $120,000 according to that time exchange rate) from a State Bank of USSR presenting to the bank clerk just an empty piece of paper. After he got the money he gave them back. The teller, realizing what he did, had a heart attack. Other time Stalin’s deputy Beria ordered to keep him in the KGB building and not to allow Messing to leave the room and the building. He left the room and the building without any obstacle, despite the fact that the building was very well guarded.

Messing also could read someone thoughts from a distance, predict future and telling somebody’s biography just by looking at the photo. He also performed on stage, revealing his startling abilities to publics. He made a lot for propaganda of development psychic abilities among the masses, trying to convince scientists to research anomalous aspects of a man’s brain, but soon his on stage performances were banned. He even proposed to open a laboratory investing his own money but this proposal was refused by authorities, and that time in USSR only government could allow people to start scientific researches.

He was one of the few millionaires who lived in USSR, the country that did not recognized capitalism and right for having business by an individual.

In his old age he preferred to be alone, in order not to get completely mad from all the thoughts and emotional experiences he perceived from other people around. When he died all his money was inherited by the government because he had no relatives at all.

That’s a sad example of the USSR during the Communist age. The super-talented person who could be extremely popular in a free country, helping the science to explore new horizons in a human nature was completely censored by the government. Many branches of science were not allowed to freely develop because of a governmental vision and guidance. Because of all that the world has never got knowing with Mr. Wolf Messing and his brilliant abilities.

In 1953 Messing personally foretold Stalin his death, while pleading to stop persecution of Jews in Russia.[citation needed] He claimed that Stalin would die on a Jewish holiday,[citation needed], which as a matter of fact eventually happened.

Wolf Messing died in 1974. According to his wife, he knew the exact date and time of his death many years before it really happened.
