2. Sport is comprises hard work and competition. It’s a sphere where men and women want to surpass themselves. Not without a reason do people say that sport is a world of It’s own and It can’t mean the same to everybody. People all over the world play sport games, but of course some people like one game and some like others. For example many people like to watch boxing while many other don’t. Sport makes our bodies strong, quickens reaction. In sport there are no social or racial differences. Sport teaches us how to lose as well as to win. Many people do sports on their personal initiative. All the nesessary facilities are provided for them: gyms, football fields, skating rinks, swimming pools etc. Sport is paid much attention to in educational establishments. Everyday thouthands of people do sports, watch sports programmes on TV and read sports news. As for me, I was always fond of figure skating, because it is more a dance than a competition. Unfortunatelly I can’t participate in it. I’m not strong enough, besides I wouldn’t say that It is a cheap and absolutely safe kind of sports. At present I hardly do sports. The only game I occasionally play is basketball. But I’m sure, If you want to keep fit you should go in for sports, because sport makes people strong, healthy and optimistic.

People all over the world are fond of sports and games. Sport makes people healthy, keeps them fit. We know that there is а sound mind in а sound body. Sport makes а person's character. It's good for moral development as well. It's а way to meet other people, even people from other countries. There are nо social differences in sport. Everybody is equal. Sport teaches us how to lose as well as to win.

Many people do sports on their personal initiative. They go in for skiing, skating, tennis, swimming, volleyball, football, bodybuilding, etc. All the necessary facilities are provided for them: stadiums, sports grounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, footba11 fields. Sport is paid much attention to in our educational establishments.

There are different sporting societies, clubs and complexes in our republic. The most famous of them are the Olympic complexes «Raubichi», «Staiki», «Dinamo» stadium, etc. They are used for international and world competitions. They were built for the 22nd 0lympic Games which took place in 1980.

Everybody chooses a kind of sports he on she is interested in. Every week thousands of people do sports and millions watch sports programmes on TV, read sport news in newspapers and listen to sport reports on the radio.

As for me, I like sports too, though in theory at present. When I was а junior pupil I went in for sports. I liked swimming, so I went to the swimming pool every day. You know how it always happens when you grow up. The habits gradually change and at present 1 hardly do sports seriously. Though from time to time I do my morning exercises.

But I am sure if you want to keep fit you must go in for sports because sport makes people strong, healthy and optimistic.

3. Traveling around the world is a dream that many people have, however, for many people this dream is too expensive to realize. Fortunately there are ways to cut costs when planning a trip around the world, such as using an around-the-world ticket. If you are ready for a real adventure, then take these steps to plan your trip around the world.

Investigate your best airfare options. Check with various airlines and travel agencies to find out which airline offers the best prices and service for international fares or around-the-world tickets. Know that some airlines have stricter rules and restrictions than others. Look for the ticket that gives you the most flexibility as well as the best price.

2Estimate when you'll take your around-the-world trip. Make an itinerary to plan a trip around the world: decide which countries you want to visit and how much time you'll want to spend in each. Decide on cities and towns you want to visit. Figure out what activities you want to do (e.g., hiking, sightseeing or wine tasting).

Sponsored Links3 Set a date and purchase your plane tickets or your around-the-world ticket. Check first with your travel agent or the airline and ask about package deals that include accommodations and other services (e.g., car rentals or tours). Know that some air ticket purchases may automatically include discounts for accommodations and other services.

4 Book accommodations. Confirm hotel or hostel reservations before leaving on your trip. Print out confirmation numbers or receipts-one set to leave at home and one set to take with you-to plan a trip around the world.

5 Know that you can also buy ahead of time inclusive train and bus tickets and passes that will allow you to travel around a country or continent on one ticket for one price. Book as much of your transportation as possible (before your trip), including rental cars, trains and buses.

6 Get a passport, if you need one, and all of the travel visas that you will need for your trip. Organize items you'll need to apply for your passport. Realize that processing your passport takes much longer. Plan months ahead.

7Buy money belts or other security accessories you'll need during your trip to strap/clip on and hide your valuables under your clothes (such as your passport and money). Be prepared to take different credit cards and know that some places won't accept certain credit cards or traveler's checks.

8 Pack light. Leave a few special outfits behind-you'll be glad to be without the extra clothes while carrying your luggage during your trip. Mix and match clothes. Fit the majority of your stuff into one large backpack or duffle bag ideally. Make sure it's not too heavy since you may end up carrying luggage for long periods of time. Set aside stuff you'll need on hand to keep in one carry-on bag.

9Leave most personal hygiene items at home since many hotels supply toiletries, or you can easily purchase them on-the-go. Exchange some money for foreign currency before leaving but not large amounts-you'll likely only need enough local currencies for cab fares and incidentals.

4 Nowadays people are getting more and more concerned about the food they eat, about the air they breathe and the way they look and feel. They begin to comprehend that staying active as you get older gives you more energy and helps to stave off illness. Nowadays we are offered a wide range of sport facilities to achieve general fitness. From my own experience I can say that some of my friends are simply hooked on aerobics, shaping, stretching and bodybuilding. I must admit that a professional sportsman is always a pleasure to look at: he doesn’t smoke or drink alcohol, he keeps to a healthy diet avoiding junk food and always takes regular hours. Absolute beginners should start with some basic mobility exercises to get them moving. All sports should be made a part of a weekly routine. Regularity and moderation are two basic rules. However, we shouldn’t forget that it might be appropriate to get the doctor’s approval before. In fact everybody chooses an activity that appeals more to him. From my point of view, swimming is an excellent exercise. It doesn’t strain the muscles as the water supports the body weight. It also helps flexibility, stamina, and heart and lung capability. Cycling is wonderful for balance. In fact you can practice it both indoors and outdoor on a stationary bike. Yoga is also an ideal option. It’s mostly due to the fact that both your body and your mind benefit from yoga classes, as it tones the muscles and relieves tension. I would also like to draw your attention to the fact – that recent research shows that just an hour’s brisk walk every day maintains perfect fitness and wards off such diseases as asthma, arthritis, back aches and insomnia. As a teenager I’d say that the greatest way to combine pleasure and fitness is dancing. Pretty much like jogging or hiking it is one of the best ways to boost heart, muscles and lungs. It improves self-control and coordination. Doctors say that a twenty minutes session will give the heart a safe level of protection. So all these exercises combined with healthy will inevitably provide a person with a health body and a peace of mind. All kind of spot can be divided into different groups: indoor and outdoor sports, summer and winter sports. The most popular outdoor winter sports are shooting, hunting, hockey, snow-skating, skiing. Some people greatly enjoy figure-skating and ski-jumping. Summer affords excellent opportunities for swimming, boating, yachting, cycling and many other sports. Among outdoor games football takes the first place in public interest. This game is played in all the countries of the world. The other favourite games in different countries are golf, tennis, cricket, volleyball, basketball and so on. All the year round many people indulge in boxing, wrestling, athletics, gymnastics. Among indoor games the most popular are billiards, table tennis and some others, but the great international game is chess. Shooting, fox-hunting, golf, football, cricket, horse-racing and boat-racing are very popular in Great Britain. Baseball is the most popular game in the US, basketball, American football and hockey are very popular games in the United States too. People all over the world are very fond of sports and games. And I think, that is one thing in which people of every nationality and class are united.

DIALOG

M: Where have you been, Ann?

A: I’ve seen a feature film that was a hit with the public. The camera work is superb.

M: I was less fortunate. The comedy I saw was a flop. The leading actor was ill-chosen. As for the camera-work…

A: Sorry to interrupt you but I can’t help admiring N in the leading role. She created a

true-to-life image of her heroine and I must say I was completely carried away by her brilliant acting.

M: Frankly speaking the comedy left me cold as the story wasn’t original and the music

wasn’t expressive at all. In one word, the comedy isn’t worth seeing. It’s a sheer waste of time.

A: As for me, I seldom go to a comedy. It’s not a film to my taste. Moving, dramatic

feature films appeal to me most.

7. Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer.

Wherever you live, you have at least a neighbor nearby. A neighbor can directly or indirectly affect your life; therefore, a good neighbor is important. In this piece of writing, I would like to talk about necessary traits making up a good neighbor.

Firstly, a good neighbor should be helpful enough to assist you when necessary. In my country, there is a saying which means “neighbors are even more important than siblings living far away”. That is true, especially when you have problems. A good neighbor is a person who is willing to look after your house, pick up mails and water plants when you are on vacation or on business. More seriously, if your house is on fire or you yourself suffer from a heart attack, who else will call firemen or ambulance apart from the neighbor? In short, helpfulness is the most essential characteristic that you ought to expect from a neighbor.

Secondly, as for a next-door neighbor, another indispensable quality is reliability. There is nothing worse than the fact that the person living in the adjacent house can’t be trusted. How can you dare to give your house’s key to a neighbor who was formerly a criminal? How can you dare to have a drunken neighbor look after your children when you have to go out? You even don’t dare to associate with that neighbor, let alone entrust him or her with anything. Thus, there is nothing as good as having a dependable person living nearby.

Last but not least, an inquisitive neighbor is not definitely welcome anywhere. You can’t surely find anything as unpleasant as having a neighbor who is always humming around to extract any incidents in your house to make up a gossip. For neighbors of this kind, privacy is an unfamiliar concept. You have no options other than put up with that inquisitiveness. At least, you may feel troubled with that... [continues]

...Neighbours are the people who live near us, and their behaviour...

Neighbour is the human beings who lives close to us.Some neighbour are nice and other aren’t.In my opinion there are some qualities for a good neighbour.

First things is neigbour has to be friendly.Friendship is only possible while neighbour are frindly. So each other can share their pain and pleaure that way they could live a nice and strees full life.lots of people lives far from their family and lots of them can’t go back home on holidays or other big occasion. If theiy have good friendly realation with neighbour he or she can celebrate holiday with their house. He don’t have stay home alone and miss their family members.Even on weekend they can do party together to get the fun. Neighbour should be helpful. The closest person in emergency situation is neighbour. If neighbour is helpful, they have better time. For example one of the neighbour forget to turn off the light last night that’s a reason battery was down in car.He is hurry to get in work.If the called others friends who lived far from his house its might takes little longers. He just need a jumper to starts his car.So He can ask his neighbour, and if his neighbour is helpful,he don’t have to live in a pain for a while.

Neighbour should be educated. They have sense to understand otherperson feelings. They don’t have to do things like playing music in loud,or throw the dust on others yard or stealing things ect.

The first requirement of a good neighbor is that he does not disturb others in the neighborhood. For example, he should not be too noisy or block others' parking spaces. Second, a good neighbor should cooperate in the care of the neighborhood. Everyone should work together to keep the place clean. Third, neighbors should watch out for each other's security by reporting suspicious people who may be trying to steal something and dangerous conditions such as a broken slide on the playground. Finally, the best neighbors help each other when they are in trouble. Recently, my neighborhood was affected by a strong typhoon. It caused a lot of damage, but all my neighbors showed their concern for each other by sharing food, water and candles, and helping in any way they could.

Some people say that "Good fences make good neighbors." But I believe that kindness is repaid with kindness. Also, when we show respect for people it is more likely that they will do the same for us. Therefore, if we want to have good neighbors we first have to be good neighbors.

10. People cannot live without music. They listen to music, dance to music or learn to play musical instruments. There is music everywhere: at home, in a concert hall, in the park, at the seaside, in the forest and even in the street.

Music is not only a combination of pleasant sounds. It is an art which reflects life. Music reflects people's ideas and emotions. In this world of ours, filled with conflicts, tragedies, joys and hopes, music strives to speak to people of what is most important, urgent and poignant.

Music in the lives of different people is different: some compose music, others play music, and others only listen to it. A lot of people who cannot play any musical instrument love to listen to music either at home or at a con-cert. Different people like different kinds of music. You may prefer pop or rock music, country or folk music, classical music or jazz, but you certainly cannot think of a day without music.

As for me, I prefer... music. I have a lot of cassettes (CDs, records). I try to watch all the programmes dealing with it on TV and to go to the concerts as often as possible. My favourite composer (singer, musician) is... I think he (she) is very talented. I can (not) play an instrument (the piano, the guitar, the violin). It is a great pleasure to be able to play an instrument and I like it a lot.

The second form of art I am really keen on is music. The term 'music' is difficult to define. It can be explained, for example, as the art of making pleasing combinations of sounds in rhythm, harmony and counterpoint. The music that composers make can be heard through several media; the most traditional way is to hear it live, in the presence of performers. Live music can also be broadcast over the radio, television or the internet. Firstly, music helps me relax and relieve stress. When I listen to music, classical, jazz, rap or any other type of music I enjoy, I forget about the troubles of everyday life; music provides an escape from everyday problems. Stress melts away as I am taken in by the beauty of the music. It can help me feel calm and deeply relaxed. Secondly, music affects my emotions. Each type of music sets distinct mood and changes mine. In doing so, it appeals both to my mind and to the subconscious. Whether I am feeling sad, frustrated or confused, I listen to merry or tender music, and my mood shifts.

There are many divisions and groupings of music. Among the larger genres are classical music, popular music or commercial music, country music and folk music. Classical music is sophisticated and refined, but it is a universal form of communication, it historically was the music of the upper strata of society. Popular music is music belonging to any of a number of musical styles that are accessible to the general public; it is mostly distributed commercially. It is sometimes abbreviated to pop music, although pop music is more often used for a narrower branch of popular music. Pop music is usually memorable, with voices, lyrics, instruments creating catchy tunes. Pop music attracts listeners through easy sound images.

11. People like to visit beautiful places around the world. It might be for business or leisure. Most tourists always want to see the cities which are endowed with panoramic attractions and countries with historical tourist's destinations.

There are lots of museums around the world. Museums have many activities appropriate for families with young children. I think the common place people never miss to visit when they travel to any country is the museum because this is a place which features all rare antique pieces stored as evidence of several hundred years old. Museums contain some of the most important artifacts and documents in existence pertaining history. Some museums hold the greatest collections of ancient Greek art on earth. Tourist would love to check all those stuff and children sometimes could get some ideas from what they have learned in school if they see all these for real.

Aside from seeing all the crafts, tourists also love to see the architecture of some museums. Some of them are old but they are still quite beautiful and strong that make them a good tourist destination in a country. One of the most famous museums that has been dabbed the largest museum in the world is the Metropolitan of Art in New York City. There are uncountable works to see that will take you a week to see all the rooms of the museum in going through each section. You won't get to see everything but will be memorable. Journeying through the art of mankind can be an overwhelming yet joyous experience.

Moreover, people who are fond of art and museums used to collect different kinds of arts that include paintings, prints, calligraphy, sculptures, metalwork and textiles. A museum comes in all the tourist itinerary to visit thus it is truly a must see.

15 When you leave school you understand that the time to choose your future profession, your future life has become. It's not an easy to make the right choice of a job. I have known for long time that leaving school is the beginning of my independent life, the beginning of a far more serious examination of my abilities and character.

What do I want to be when I leave school? It's very important question for me. A few years ago it was difficult for me to give a definite answer. As the years passed I changed my mind a lot of times about what science or field of industry to specialize in. It's difficult to make up my mind and choose one of the hundreds jobs to which I might be better suited. A coupe of years ago I wanted to become a doctor, you know I wanted to help people who had problems with health. Then I wanted to become a policeman, then a spaceman, I even wanted to become a professional football player. But all of them now are in the past; they were like children's dreams and nothing more. Now I have already decided what to do. I'd like to be an aviator. I know that it's very difficult. I should know perfectly everything about the planes, airports, weather and other things. You know that the weather is very important thing for the flights too. I must be well educated and well informed. So that's why at first I am going to go to the Aviation University in Moscow, then when I finish studding I'll go to my country to try to get a job in the air companies. You know may be something will be not OK, because I don't know what will happen tomorrow, but I know that I'll do everything to realize my plane and my dreams.

I also want to say that the profession should be chosen according to the character and hobbies of the person. That's why parents mustn't make their children choose the thing they like (parents like). Children must do it themselves. Because they must love the thing they do, believe that people need them and their job will bring them more pleasure. In my opinion one of them is that we barely need books anymore, actually, we can have all the information we need on our laptops or computers. Some old fashioned people or as we can call them luddites hold the opinion that books are irreplaceable. I strongly disagree with them since I believe that nowadays people are more concerned about saving their time, money and natural resources than before and due to these factors they prefer E-books over paper based books.

In order to provide papers, we need to cut trees which leads to deforestation, and as we all know it has quite a few detrimental effects on our lives, namely decreasing level of oxygen in atmosphere and global warming. Due to the fact that youngsters care more about their environment, they try using computers for reading in order to decline the number of trees that are coming down.

Most of us like to drink or eat while reading books, so spilling a cup of coffee on our books seems like a frequent accident for most of us, but thanks to computers this wouldn't be a problem anymore. We do not need to be watchful from now on. About half of us are bespectacled, and when we want to read we spend a great deal of time looking for our glasses, computers have a good solution for this, by zooming in or zooming out you can adjust the size of words in a way you can read them without needing any glass.

Last but not least, wasting too much time on getting the book they like seems like a big struggle for bookworms to overcome with. First of all; due to traffic and not having a car of their own, they need to spend quite a bit of time and money to reach a library or a bookstore and second of all, they might not even get what they were looking for. E-books have solution for these issues as well, you can buy them by internet in just a second for the latter problem you can just read all the comments and reviews that has been written by readers and critics; and, find out that whether this is the book you were looking for or not.

To sum up, I believe in the future not far away from now, as we walk on the streets, there would not be any bookstores. As we all know the world is going into the direction of efficiency, green life; and, as I stated above E-books have all these features.
