The sound of rain drops falling down the window sill at night, the gentle wind tickling the autumn leaves, bugs making real symphonies in the deep grass of summer meadows. This beauty is around us, we are able to sense it, the nature unveils its treasures to everyone who is willing to listen. And that can be called the cradle of music. It was given birth at the exact day of the World creation and kept developing with it. Music is everywhere, in every tiny gentle motion.

It is impossible to deny that there is no individual without musical impact. No matter whom you address, a person will always have preferences in some genres, or at least any objection towards any musical style. British scientists tried to monitor a certain group of people and juxtapose their basic character features and musical tastes and found out

that, for example people could make accurate judgments about an individual's levels of extraversion, creativity and open-mindedness after listening to ten of their favorite songs. Extraverts tend to seek out songs with heavy bass lines, while those who enjoy more complex styles such as jazz and classical music tend to be more creative and have higher IQ-scores. What is more, music can be treated as cure or contagious desease depending on the way you perceive it.

As for my beloved genres, for the last five years I keep staying devoted to rock-music, but it is such a wide notion I have to give a thorough view on it. Among all rock subgenres I prefer, indie, brit-pop, post-rock, ambient, rock-n-roll and many others. But recently I started giving my preferences to more electronic music. I would scroll through some jazz and blues compositions with a great relish too.

Being an introvert, to me music is such a vitally important aspect that I cannot imagine my daily life without it. It becomes my kind listener when emotions overwhelm me, helps to find clues to the problems disturbing me at a certain point of time. Once there even was a case when I went to sleep listening to some composer and after having woken up the sopution had struck my mind, and it was tightly connected with the lyrics of one of the songs playing in my headphones. Gives knowledge and experience you may gratefully use not to make own mistakes. Even a composition of two minutes may provoke my thinking do much I would get lost in time and space.

I wouldn’t ever get bored from repeating, that Noel Gallagher is my favourite musician. And, frankly speaking, not only a musician for me he is, but a teacher and an example. He is a guitarist of sensational notorious band of wild 90th – Oasis. I also pay special gratitude to such cultural phenomenon as Pink Floyd, as their music is something beyond the comparison. It is a philosophy layed onto heartbeat-speeding sounds and ocean-deep lyrics.

By now I have been to many concerts what is a merit of my parents, mother in particular, as we are a lot alike in musical tastes. I’ve been to Sting, Noel Gallagher, Anastasia, Noel Gallagher, and several Ukrainian musicians. This summer I’m playing to earn money for the ticket to The Killers concert and in autumn one outstanding Armenian composer is coming to Kiev with symphonic orchestra, so I’d like to be present there as well.

As it has been previously mentioned, my parents are also so-to-say musical junkies, so we have lots of things in common and among the most frequent conversations between us concern exactly this aspect. Since my childhood my mother gave me a great feeling of beauty, especially in music. It is a connecting bridge between our generations, because we can sit and cheer up with Beatles, or drawn in Led Zeppelin sound and so on.

To sum up, there would not be enough words in the whole Universe to describe how important music is in general and for any of us in particular, how beautiful it is in every separate tune or bohemian rhapsody, how vital it is for personality development or, better to say, creation of an Individual. There is a quotation:”Life is a book, and the one who does not travel reads only a page”, to relate this saying to the topic I had transformed it the following way: ”Let’s say that life is a book and by not-travelling you read only a page. But what if you are disabled? Then you simply need to get music involved”.
