1. Use the method of iteration to find a positive root between 0 and 1 of the equation xe^x =1.

2. Find a real root of the equation cos x = 3x – 1 correct to 3 decimal places using iteration method.

3. Find a real root of 2x – log10 x = 7 correct to four decimal places using the iteration method.

4. Apply iteration method to solve e^–x = 10x.

5. Find by iterative method, the real root of the equation 3x – log10 x = 6 correct to four significant

figures.

6. Solve by iteration method:

(i) 1 + log x = (ii) sin x = (iii) x ³ = x ² + x + 1 near 2 (use 5 iterations)
