They are training specialists in the sciences, management, finance and credit, book – keeping, history, the English language, law, sociology, computing, mining, physics, etc. Such a choice of subjects meets the needs of the region. The first lecture delivered to the freshmen students is always dedicated to the development of the Murmansk region and to that of the Far North. From their first day at the University our students come to realize that in five years they will have to apply their knowledge for the benefit of our Murmansk region and the country.

The teaching staff is considered to be the best including teachers, professors, doctors, postgraduates and academicians. All of them are very high qualified and engaged in research work at the Kola Scientific Center.

At present the University campus consists of five academic buildings and three blocks of students’ residences. There are a lot of lecture-rooms, studies and laboratories, computer centres, libraries, assembly – halls, and canteens. The Kola Branch has a developed educational-and-laboratory base. The highest ruling body is the University Academic Board considering all the principal questions of University life. Its meetings take place every month.
