The aim of the lesson is to reveal the notion of art and discuss its value and properties as far as you can judge what things art can express.

 

1. Reproduce the given extract and go on speaking (add 4-5 sentencies)

Art has often been considered one of the main aspects of modern culture and has a number of uses throughout the business world as well. Art is predominantly used in design processes, for advertisements as well as more practical areas such as construction and architecture. A good knowledge of art at school can therefore help children to develop extra skills which can be useful in later life.

Art is a popular subject with students because of its interactive and practical nature. The subject offers a ‘hands on’ creative experience that helps students to explore their own opinions and thoughts through a different medium. Everyone enjoys art in a different way…

2. “Everyone enjoys art in a different way…”Think about art. How is it often considered? What do you think art is? Give the definition of art based on your own experience (not the dictionary entry).

2. “A good knowledge of art at school can therefore help children to develop extra skills which can be useful in later life”. In what ways does it truly help? Can people develop their skills without human interference? Give your examples.

3. While pondering over the notion of art, what floating things do you meet in your mind? After dividing into 2 commands don`t let down your team and enumerate as many items as you can really see…After giving any notion explain the reason why art is associated with it.

For example: When I dream about art I`m reminded of my childhood and the most wretched car wheel near our summer cottage. I remember I was sitting inside him (it was so big, ugly and warm and I was so small nice and cold) during the rain and singing my mother`s favorite songs.

4. Have you ever been to an art show? Did you like it? What impressed you most? Why? What impressed you the least? Why?

 

5. What is your favorite type of art, why?

 

6. Just imagine and talk!)

a) Imagine yourself an artist. Would you be a cubist or a surrealist, or possibly, an impressionist? Share your priorities and explain the reasons of your choice.

b) So, you are a talented artist. But something goes wrong. People do not recognize you. Critics are always slandering. Money is limited as your cheerful mood. But you know your neighbor (he is also an artist) isn`t bothered with all these troubles. Go to his place to ask him for a piece of advice. Make a dialogue with your partner.
