XV International Students Legal Conference iSLaCo’2015

“Comparative law: enrichment of national legal traditions?”

St. Petersburg State University (the Faculty of Law) with the support of ELSA St. Petersburg is very pleased to invite you to 15^th International Students Law Conference iSLaCo “Comparative law: enrichment of national legal traditions”, which will take place on 15-18 April 2015 in St. Petersburg.

iSlaCo’2015 will be organized as discussion boards. Each of the boards is open for participants with background in different spheres (branches) of law. iSLaCo’2015 offers three discussion boards for English-speaking participants:

1. National law in international arbitration decisions

2. Do universal legal principles appear in national legal systems?

3. Legal regulation of Internet: comparative analysis

Working days of the Conference are 16-17 April 2015.

Working languages are Russian and English.

Application

Participants of iSLaCo are to submit abstracts (5-10 thousand characters) of their presentations. Abstracts are to be submitted via participant’s personal blog at http://islaco.com.

The deadline for abstracts is 25 January 2015.

Abstract requirements:

- conformity with the topic;

- objectivity;

- clarity at stating your ideas;

- references to sources.

A number of characters is not determined.

Quality of content of your statements, bringing up timely problems and sufficiency of proposed ways to solve them shall be taken into account in the selection process.

Participation

If the abstract is accepted for participation in the Conference, the author will be informed about it by the OC not later than 31 January 2015. The list of participants will also be available at http://islaco.com/.

Selection will be performed by members of the OC (formal requirements) and the Academic commission that includes the Faculty’s academic staff.

Additional information.

There is no participation fee for attending iSLaCo’2015.

Along with the academic program, our guests are welcome to enjoy the broad cultural program prepared by the Organizing Committee. This program includes a city tour, tours to historical places that have played significant role in the development of the Russian jurisprudence, theatres and grand closing party.

The participants are recommended to stay in “Friends Hostel”, one of the best hostels in the very heart of St. Petersburg (http://www.friendsplace.ru/druzya-na-griboedova/).
