GYMNASIUM MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2015

Dear MUN Directors, dear friends!

We are eagerly anticipating GYMUN 2015 and we cordially invite you and 5 to 6 (age fifteen to eighteen) of your students to attend the 4^th annual international session of Gymnasium Model United Nations (GYMUN), held on April 2-5, 2015 in Minsk, Belarus.

GYMUN is an international Model United Nations (MUN) Conference for and by high school students. At GYMUN, students assume the roles of diplomats, representing a nation in a simulated session of a UN committee (e.g. the UN Security Council). GYMUN is an exciting opportunity for students to learn about foreign policy. GYMUN will challenge students to find creative solutions to a variety of problems that will arise in our diverse selection of committees. GYMUN delegates are to respond to these problems by drafting resolutions and engaging in negotiation and debate. Active participation in the conference will help students develop communication- and critical thinking skills such as leadership, teamwork, policy analysis, research, active listening and public speaking. The working language of the conference is English.

GYMUN is a young but unforgettable conference. The dynamic and dedicated organizing team, devoted and passionate volunteers are working hard on making GYMUN the best start of a great adventure into the world of diplomacy giving each delegate a chance to spark the debate and influence global decisions.

We are extremely excited about the conference, and hope it will be equal parts nerve-wracking, exciting, educational and fun.

School Registrations are due Friday, February 6, 2015, the application form is attached. The costs of the 4-day conference are modest – the fee is 280.000 rub/20$ for each delegate. This includes entrance to the conference, lunches and cultural events.

A Housing Program will be provided to schools from far away. Placement in the Housing Program should be requested through registration form.
