(1) Having spent a sleepless night, he was unable to concentrate.
It’s a simple two-member complete sentence.
He – subject
was unable to concentrate – compound modal predicate
Having spent a sleepless night – adverbial of reason expressed by an subordinate objective phrase

When I got home | it was too late |and I did not see Miss Barkley until the next morning.
This is a composite sentence because it contains more than one unit of finite predication. The sentence consists of three clauses. It is a compound-complex sentence because the clauses stand in relations of idependence and those of dependence.
(1) When I got home is a subordinate time clause
(2 ) it was too late is the first principal (co-ordinate) clause
(3) I did not see Miss Barkley until the next morning is the second principal clause
