Linguistics Department

The department is holding the Fifth International Competition

for elementary, middle and high school students (of any age)

on topics related to the Russian Language and Culture

The contest consists of three categories:

1. An essay: “The Role of the Russian Language in the Modern World” (180-200 words)

2. A power point presentation “Russian fairy tales I know”. (10-12 slides)

3. A letter to a foreign friend on the topic “My favourite book by а Russian author”.

You can participate in any part of the contest.

Submissions should be sent to [e-mail] before 01.02.2014.
The results will be announced on 10.04.2014.
All participants will receive certificates and the winners will get diplomas. The certificates and diplomas will be sent by post.

Requirements for the essay:

Font: Times New Roman 14 Word 2003 (if possible); 1.5-inch spacing;
the contestant should write in the top right corner of the work: his/her surname, first name, country, city, school and e-mail (if any of the teachers from a contestant’s school would like to supervise the student’s work, the teacher’s name should be written with the student’s, then he/she will also receive a certificate)
