Grammar: Review of simple and continuous forms of verbs; verbs followed by verbs + - ing or to + verb (see unit 1)

Write a story (blog length = min 100 words) about a time in your life when you faced a challenge. Use at least 5 verbs followed by verb + -ing and 5 verbs followed by to + verb from the list of essential vocabulary. Use simple and continuous forms of verbs (at least 2-3 times) to highlight key moments in your story. Highlight obligatory vocabulary words and grammar models in your text.

Tell about cultural items, icons, and events of people from different countries. Describe their manners, customs, and culturally appropriate behavior (just one thing should be mentioned).

Use at least 3 adjectives, 3 nouns, and any 4 collocations from the list of essential vocabulary in your text.

Choose 3-4 groupmates to work with as a team. Agree on the suitable date and time to enable everyone to take part in the discussion.

Create a new forum to discuss things you do yourself and things you get done somewhere else.

 

Talk about errands, things that need to be fixed, and solving problems.

Use at least 5 nouns from the list of essential vocabulary to name shops, services, and tools you use to get things done (other nouns can be used as well). Use at least 5 verbs from the list of essential vocabulary to talk about maintenance, technical problems and problem solving.

Use causative get and have to talk about getting things done. Use need + passive infinitive; need + verb + -ing.

*(extra) Summarize ideas from the forum and use them to write a proposal presenting a solution to a problem in housekeeping. Post it as a blog (blog length = min 100 word).

Choose any question on the topic you are mainly interested in. Prepare at least 3 possible answers to your question.

Survey your groupmates to find out more about how they spend money, etc. (make them answer your question).

Use the passive of the present continuous and present perfect. Link ideas to express a contrast, reason, purpose, or alternative.
