Hello dear teachers!))

Hope your students will enjoy this Halloween Quick Response Halloween Hunt. This is a team game, 2 teams compete. It’s very easy to adapt this activity for your purposes; I used this QR code generator http://goqr.me to create the tasks.

Materials. Colour printer, paper, scotch tape, ball head paper pins, optional – stapler (if you choose to cover the tasks with Halloween pictures). Halloween candy for the winners (and for runners-up as well!). Minimum 1 QR Code reader App on any of the students’ gadgets – tablets, phones per group. Minimum 1 gadget with Internet access per group.

Level. Intermediate, but adaptable.

Preparation.

You need to choose the school building locations and pin the task sheets on them. In my hunt there were 15 spots, 7 for the correct answers and 8 “Oops” ones. I did it at Geography Faculty with my Sophomores, hence the Room names.))

Locations:

Reading Room x

Room 23 v

Room 24 x

Room 21 v

Room 25 x

Room 61 x

Library v

Chair of Physical Geography x

Chair of Economic Geography v

Procedure

Welcome the teams. Make sure each team has a QR reader app on at least one gadget. Check if they have at least one gadget with Internet access (for “tough” questions, just in case). The teams scan the code, choose the correct answer and run to the next spot. If they see “Oops” sheet, they were wrong and must return to the previous spot and choose the right answer. The team which answers the questions the fastest and arrives at the last spot first, wins.

(This game took 20 minutes to play.)

Go over the correct answers with your comments if necessary. Treat the students to Halloween candy. Take a group picture.
