EVS with UNA Exchange: 16th Feb – 16th August 2015

EVS with UNA Exchange: 16th Feb – 16th August 2015

UNA Exchange manages a range of programmes which support international volunteering in Wales and abroad from two weeks to 12 months. Our activities bring together young people from different countries to volunteer their time and energies in a unique way, bringing benefits to individuals and communities alike.

UNA Exchange has been working on the EVS programme for over ten years. We’ve been a sending organisation and a coordinating organisation, and now we’re very excited to be a hosting organisation in our second year.

We have two volunteering placements running from

February – August 2015 (six months).

The placements will be based in our offices in Cardiff and working on our ‘Exchanges Programme’. One role will focus more on the Volunteering in Wales programme and Social Media whilst the other EVS role will focus more on the Volunteering Abroad programme and Evaluation (case studies). However, there will be plenty of opportunities for the EVS volunteers to work together and we hope that both volunteers will learn a lot from the placements.

Both roles will also allow volunteers to bring their own skills and ideas to their work and we are interested in hearing your ideas about how you might want to add to these roles. EVS volunteers will also have the chance to undertake a special personal project in the second part of their placements, finalised through discussion with their supervisor. Previous volunteers at UNA Exchange have:

· Written an ‘Environmental and Sustainability Policy’ for the organisation;

· Worked with a national Welsh organisation to create a training pack to deliver Global Youth Work as part of a new qualification;

· Undertaken a research project on how UNA Exchange might use ‘timebanking’ as part of its work.

Please add any ideas that you have for a personal project to your application.
