7. Choose one of the areas in which in your opinion Russian women are discriminated
against. Do some library or Internet research to obtain some facts to support your
arguments. Prepare an emotional speech on the issue and present it to the class. Finish
your speech with a proposal how to combat this kind of discrimination.

a) Women and Politics. Why have there been so few women cabinet members in Russia?

b) Why do so few women stand for election? Does a woman have a chance to be elected
President of Russia? If not, why?

c) Women and Business. Why do so few women get to the top of their career ladder?

d) Women and Society. Does society have stricter moral demands on women? Why?
