Name of the experiment: Measurment of lung capacity with spirometer

Goal of the experiment: Acquainted with the methods of measuring the time delay on inspiration and expiration, measuring the girth of the chest in a state of inspiration and expiration. Learn to build korellyatsionnye curves on a computer and process the data on the overall chart.

Equipments: spirometer

Theory and Procedures:

Spirometer (Latin spirometer - on spiro - blow, breathe and meter - to measure) - a medical device for measuring the volume of air from the lungs when you exhale after maximum greatest inspiration. Spirometer is used to determine the respiratory capacity. The process of measuring lung capacity using a spirometer is called spirometry.

This instrument is used to assess the state of the human respiratory system by measuring and calculating all the main parameters of breathing and visualization of breath.

Procedures:

1. Take a deep breath and hold the air.

2. Measure by hours of air time delay and record in a notebook: Inspiration = ______ sec.

3. After some rest and restore breathing take a deep breath and hold your breath.

4. Measure by hours of air time delay and record in a notebook: Exhale = ______sec.

5. Build a chart of your own data.

Analysis and conclusion
