Onestopenglish bulletin: Life skills

Now in its third successive year, the coveted onestopenglish Creativity in the Classroom Scholarship is back! If you're a creative teacher and you're interested in joining us at IATEFL 2015, then we want to hear from you!

This year's scholarship is all about teaching life skills, so we've put together the selection of life skills resources below to inspire and help you with your application. You can also find plenty more inspiration over on our dedicated life skills pages on onestopenglish and Macmillan English.

The scholarship award consists of:

  • £800 towards travel and accomodation costs
  • Registration for the 2015 IATEFL conference
  • A one-year IATEFL membership
  • A one-year onestopenglish subscription

Are you a creative teacher? Do you teach life skills? This summer we’re back with our IATEFL Scholarship for 2015 and we want you to apply!

For the third year running, onestopenglish is delighted to announce the return of the Creativity in the Classroom Scholarship for 2015. The scholarship offers the chance for teachers committed to encouraging creativity in the classroom to attend the IATEFL Annual Conference for the first time, as well as the opportunity to publish and work with the onestopenglish team.

This year’s scholarship focuses specifically on creative ways to teach life skills, the skills we need to deal effectively with everyday life. Examples of these skills include communication, problem solving, cultural awareness and building self-confidence, all of which form an important part of helping students make the most of educational and employment opportunities. Find inspiration all about life skills and how they apply to the ELT classroom with our selection of free resources on Macmillan English and our onestopenglish resources page.

The scholarship is open to all English language teachers, regardless of your level of experience or area of teaching: to qualify you must be actively working in a classroom and commit to writing an article on your experience after the conference.
