RULES

General Position:

1. International Contest «WORLDSTAR 2014» is a project based on contest between the pop music performers.

Time and Place:

1. The competition is held in Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova at the most famous concert hall in the town, from ------ at the beginning of June 2014.

Objectives:

1. Support development and promotion of contemporary popular music.

2. Identify and support talented artists, improve their creative skills and performance culture.

3. Provide opportunities for the implementation and improvement of creative abilities through participation in competitive gigs.

4. Expand creative contacts and cultural relations between the countries.

Participants:

1. Vocal artists of different styles age from 16 to 35 and from 6 to 15: Solo, duet and group.

2. The number of participants should not exceed 30 people.

3. The number of participants from each country is not limited.

4. During performance on stage, the number of participants shall not exceed 7 persons, including the contestant, accompaniments, back vocalists and dancers.

5. Participation is confirmed by the invitation, sent by the management of the contest, based on applications received from competitors.

Rules of Participation:

1. Pre- selection is made by the management on the basis of official request and audio and video materials provided by the applicant.

2. The official application is submitted to the management - from September 1^st to till February 1^st 2014 and should include the following materials:

1) Application form (Word format);

2) 2 pictures for advertising;

3) CV&Personal statement (Word a format);

4) Copy of passport of participant and accompanying person;

5) One song, popular hit or author's song of choice ("-1") "soundtrack playback" and if it is ("+") "radio version";

6) A photo of the dress or suit for performance.

7) Materials should be submitted via E-mail: [e-mail], all materials and documents have to be labeled with document name, country and name of the performer.

Organizational and technical requirements:

1. Each participant performs one Song: a popular hit or author's own song of choice.

2. The songs should be performed on playback "-1" (soundtrack instrumental version).

3. The recording of voice (back vocal) in a phonogram is admissible if it does not duplicate the voice of contestant.

4. In case contestant involved back vocalists, the use in phonogram of back vocal is not allowed.

5. Duplicate voices ("Double-track") are not allowed.

6. Duration of sound production shall not exceed 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

7. Recording playback «+» is not aloud.

8. The recording of playback "-1" (soundtrack instrumental version) should be submitted in ideal sound quality with application form to the administration via e-mail. The track should be labeled with: country, name of the contestant, name of the song, exact duration of the song.

9. The change of the song initially submitted is allowed with a written request no later than 1 month before the day of the contest.

10. The order of the performance during the Contest is determined by the administration of the contest, based on the songs styles.

National Moldovian selection:

1. The Moldovian national selection is held from September 1^st until February 1^st 2014.

2. Preliminary hearing and selection of participants by the administration of the contest, is made on the basis of the submitted material.

3. All participants must submit 1(one) one video link with a live performance uploaded on www.youtube.com and an official request via email [e-mail] or www.facebook.com/WSContest.

Structure of the Jury:

1. The Jury consist of popular stars and show business entrepreneurs, producers, musicians and composers. The number of jury does not exceed 4 persons.

2. The voting process is open to the public.

3. Performance is evaluated on a basis of a 10 points system scale.

4. Criteria used: vocal, performing mastery, complexity of repertoire, execution technique, appropriateness of the performance to the age of the participant, charisma, uniqueness, scenic deliver of the performance.

5. The result of the jury are documented, final and are not subject to appeal.

Rewarding:

1. The winners ages 16 to 35 years are awarded with the following prizes:

The1^st place - the Special prize from “ Iguana Studios” - "Productions of the Musical Video clip".

The 2^nd place - the Special prize from musical TV channel “RU TV MOLDOVA” - "Promotion of video of the clip on the musical channel RU TV MOLDOVA ".

The 3rd place - the Special prize - "Song" (music, lyrics, arrangement).

2. Winners ages 6 to 15 years are awarded the following prizes:

The 1^st place - the Special prize from “Iguana Studios” - "Productions of the Musical Video clip".

The 2^nd place - the Special prize - "Song" (music, lyrics, arrangement).

The 3^rd place - the Special prize - "The Valuable Present".

Financial conditions:

1. Travel, medical expenses insurance is responsibility of the Participants.

2. The participation fee is 200 euros per person. The payment should be transfered not later than May 1^st 2014 year to the bank account provided. The fee includes 3 (three) day hotel accommodation, breakfast, dinner and shuttle transportation.

3. The duration of the program is 3 days.

4. Participants and guests arrived earlier (+ 1day) should pay fee of 67 euros per person wich includes hotel accommodation, breakfast and Lunch.

5. Participants and guests arrived (date we will report) June _ at the "Hotel" located on: _______________________. Directions could be find on the following site: _____________. Departure (date we will report) June _.

6. The fee for participants from Moldova and their accompanying persons, who were selected for contest is 60 Euros.

7. Accompanying persons of participants will be provided a free two day admission to the contest.

8. The participation fee is not refundable. Submission of the application form implies acceptance of obligations to fulfill the financial terms of this provision independently on the participation or refusal from the contest.

Dress code:

1. Participants - Bridal dress dark tones suits are not allowed. Style: fashionable, trendy.

2. Guests - Are excluded suits of dark tones. Style – fashionable, youth.

Special provisions:

1. Participant should arrive on time specified in the official invitation.

2. The number of support group of the participant must be reported to the management of the contest and should be specified in the application. The number of people in the support group arrived to the contest should exactly match the number of the persons previously specified on the application form. Any change should be coordinated with the administration. Arrival to the competition of more participants or accompanying than specified in the application shall be approved by the management of competition.

3. All organizational and advertising issues should be addressed with Executive Comision.

4. The receiving party is not liable for any claimed songs used by the participant. Participants take full Copyright responsibility.

5. The management of the competition has full media rights for broad casting.

6. Violation of any rules or regulations on the stage (verbal communication with audience or jury is not allowed) will result in exclusion from the completion or cancellation of the awarded prizes.

7. Application for participation in the competition implies acceptance of the rules of the provision.

8. Participation in the competition implies full and unconditional fulfillment of the rules of the provision.
