Adverbs of frequency

· Adverbs of frequency can go: before the main verb	He always goes to work by bus. They never go on holiday in winter.
· Adverbs of frequency come before the main part of the verb, but after auxiliary verbs.	We don’t usuallydrive.
· Adverbs of frequency come after the verb be.	I’m alwaystired. ohn is often absent from lessons. They were usually on time.
· Adverbs of frequency come after modal verbs, should, can, could, etc	You should always turn the electricity off. My boss can never remember my name.
· Sometimes and occasionally can go in the front, middle or end position in the sentence.	Sometimes she is late. She is sometimes late. She is late sometimes.

Exercise 1 Order the sentences:

a. Mary / punctual / always / is / to school.
b. often / I / revise / don't / my homework.
c. We / visit / hardly ever / at weekends / museums.
d. My parents / never / travel / in summer / abroad.
e. celebrate / my birthday / I / usually / with my friends

Exercise 2 Complete the expressions with these verbs: do make spend take tidy use.
