The purpose of the project is: to designe, offer and calculate one of stages of the rational technological scheme of the limiting gas hydrocarbons processing of petrol extraction into the end products: highly octic fuel and DME.

The following problems were need to be solved to achieve the purpose:

1. To analyse and give the characteristic of methods of fuel production from the gases containing methane.

2. To study the mechanism of the reaction of methane conversion to choose the rational way of processing of raw materials to the end product.

3. To calculate the equilibrium composition of carbon dioxide conversion of methane. To define optimal conditions of carbon dioxide conversion.

4. To make technological calculations of the scheme of the carbon oxide (II) processing into the methanol and DME, as a basis of special part of this project.

5. To offer a technological way of processing of the methanol and DME into high-octic fuel.

 

Research object is the technology of receiving of the high-octic fuel out of gaseous hydrocarbons of petrol extraction.

Research subject is the calculation of the balance thermodynamic data in system: carbon oxide (II) − hydrogen.

To calculate the equilibrium composition of the reformed gas we need to use an electronic computing machine or appropriate software. To simplify the task, it is reasonable to make correlations to define the content of separate components in the reformed gas, and also to decide the definition of selectability, fractional conversion and speed of catalytic component interaction.

Research methods. Mathematical simulation of equilibrium and kinetic parameters was made by means of the personal computer using the software packages of MathCad.

Scientific novelty of the project is that at a receiving stage of synthesis gas, it is offered to carry out a process of carbon dioxide conversion of the limiting hydrocarbons instead of vapor conversion which is applied in the actual industrial schemes.

Practical value of the received results. The offered concept to use the carbon dioxide at a conversion stage of methane is effective and reasonable.

Thus, the second method of utilization of associated gases of petrol extraction in the form of high-octic fuel is the most technologically reasonable and economically effective. Besides, utilization of СО2 is one of the important points of the Kyoto Protocol.

Personal contribution of the master. The analysis of hydrocarbons conversion methods was carried out; the calculation of equilibrium data of carbon dioxide conversion of methane was made; mathematical models which can be applied to carbon dioxide conversion were made and calculated; the calculation of a technological stage of methanol and DME synthesis is made.

Paper structure and size. The diploma project includes the introduction, 8 chapters, the conclusion and 5 supplement. The diploma paper consists of 162 pages, 17 drawings and 36 tables, 58 names of the used literature sources.
