Hobbies And Interests

Hobbies are activities. These encourage creativity and imagination. They differ like tastes. We choose a according to our character and taste and it makes our life more interesting.

Hobbies include doing things, making things, collecting and learning. The most popular is doing things. It means everything from travelling to gardening, from chess to volleyball.

Making things includes drawing, painting, making sculpture, designing costumes. Almost everyone cc something at some period in his life: stamps, coins, books, records. It doesn't matter much what kind of he person has, he always has the opportunity of learning from it. Learning about these things can be the most exciting aspect of a hobby.

Personally I am fond of sports. And I think it is my hobby. But it is a pity, I haven't always enough time because I am a school-leaver, this year is very important in my life. and I have to study hard. But when I was younger it was my second life. Moreover, my father is a sportsman and since my childhood I liked to go in for athletics, running, swimming. In winter I liked to ski and skate. When I grew up I became busier at school, but nevertheless twice a week I dedicate my time to visiting the sports club. It helps me to be healthy and in a good mood for а і week.

For example, my friend Oleg was fond of collecting stamps. It helped him to learn about other countries and] peoples' traditions. He used to bring the album to school and we examined his stamps with great interest. But Oleg was in the tenth form his parents bought him a music centre and he decided to collect CDs. Every time he buys it he carefully studies the information printed on disc booklets. He also never misses MTV shows, and he tries to keep up with the news in the world of music.

But it doesn't mean that we have no other activities. When I go to the sports club, Oleg usually goes with me. He likes to feel healthy. He is fond of swimming too.

Reading books is my another hobby. I find it quite interesting. Best of all I like books about history of dif countries. Sometimes I read detective stories just to relax and escape from everyday life. In this field I think Agatha Christie and Conan Doyle are great masters.

Listening to music also helps us to relax. Of course, watching TV is also interesting.

So, as you see, hobby is an important part of our life.
