15. Надеюсь, бензина хватит до гаража. (till the garage)

 

All of the verbs in the sentences below mean “stop existing”. Make a list of these verbs and their Russian equivalents.

 

A.

1. The party ended at midnight.

2. The music stopped abruptly.

5. Their marriage collapsed.

6. The pain’s gone.

7. The crisis passed.

8. The flame of the candle suddenly expired.

9. The rainforest is disappearing.

11. The old man knew he was dying.

12. Many good people perished in the long trek across the desert.

 

B.

1. Hendrick was playing the piano, but he paused and looked up as she came in.

2. If there are no more questions, the committee will adjourn until tomorrow morning.

3. Court will recess until 10 o’clock tomorrow morning.
