The English are famous for their weather and they are always talking about it. When two Englishmen meet, they usually start their conversation discussing the weather. Awful day, is not it? Lovely weather for ducks. Did you have good weather? Fine day. Is not the weather awful? What a dreadful day! It is pouring outside – raining cats and dogs.
British people say that other countries have a climate, in England they have weather because English weather is never the same two days running. The weather in Britain changes veryquickly. In the morning it may be foggy and chilly, then it can clear up and become sunny and soft, then it starts drizzling, then raining and thundering and the evening may be bright and warm. One day it rains, the next day it may be sunny and marvelous and the next it can be cold and beasty again.
2. Would you agree that there is no reason to feel bored in autumn?
Yes, I agree. Despite many drawbacks, autumn is not so bad as many people think about it. Of course we miss songs of birds and November's fogs and sleet are not pleasant things, but just think about Indian summer. There is nothing more beautiful than Indian summer, when we have one. Bright leaves, songs of sparrows – are the things which allow as to enjoy the autumn. Also apples, pears, walnuts and grapes get ripe in September and October and may be picked. I, for one, could not get along without fruits or nuts, and for the sake of these I'm willing to put up with some discomforts.
