We are students of V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University, of Physical Culture and Sports faculty. It was established in 1948. Its first Dean, Associate professor A. Ya. Zilber, was among its founders. Today the Faculty is headed by Associate professor______. The faculty provides training in two specialities: physical training and human health. Six chairs have some 500 resident students and over 1,000 correspondent students. Our graduates work in educational institutions, sports schools and societies, rehabilitation centres, health resorts of the Crimea. Students may use three scientific-research laboratories, track-and-field hall, facilities for indoor games, gymnastics and wrestling, a stadium, a massage lab, and a recreation facility in Alushta. The Faculty trained more than 150 Masters of Sports of International Class; some of them were prize-winners at National, European, world championships and the Olympic Games. The following graduates are the Faculty’s pride: V. Klimov (cycle racing), A. Reshetniak (track and field athletics), E. Shestakov (boxing), M. Oberemko (sailing), V. Piskunov (track and field athletics, second place in a world championship), V. Rebrik (track and field athletics) and others.

More than 57 teachers and lecturers are on the staff, including honored scientists, doctors and candidates of sciences, honored Masters of Sports, honored coaches, and Masters of Sports. The main task of the staff is to train qualified specialists, combining high mastery and erudition. All the students of our faculty start to go in for different kinds of sport before entering the University. And now we are developing our skills. Every week we have lectures and special training lessons. Every training lesson begins with a warming-up period which lasts about 20 minutes. It consists of slow running for about a half mile, then fast running. Next, the sportsmen do a few exercises which depend on their event. After the warming-up we rest for about 5 minutes before we start practicing. The warm-up of the body is very important. It helps to prevent pulled muscles. We train according to the trainer’s instructions.

A lot of our students have decided to connect their lives with Physical Rehabilitation. The chair of Physical Rehabilitation was established in 2001 and is now headed by Professor Yu. A. Bukov. The main aim of a good rehabilitologist is to restore athletes to full fitness and in the shortest possible time, so that they can train and compete at a standard as high as, or even higher than, before the injury.

As for me, I’ve made my mind, I want to be a (coach, rehabilitologist, world-famous sportsman, masseur, masseuse) and I’ll do my best to attain the aim.
