Vacancy Number: I0513

 

Position title: Intern (Administrative Unit)

 

Opening Date: Immediate

 

Deadline: May 15th, 2013

Duration: June 1st 2013 - September 30, 2013 (20 to 30 hours per week)

 

Location: Kyiv, Ukraine

 

Area of Consideration: All Sources

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The selected intern will work with selected members of the Financial, Volunteer Support and General Services staff and will be tasked with the assisting in the following duties:

· Provides additional general office, administrative, or logistic support as requested.

· Provides assistance in creating and maintaining files, both paper and electronic.

· Assists in updating databases as needed.

· Assists with travel arrangements for Volunteers, hostel reservations, travel reimbursements calculations, cash-in-lieu quotes.

· General services payments reconciliation.

· Assists with preparing/arranging documents for Volunteers registration.

· Prepares and sends mailing and correspondence.

· Translates documents as required.

· Makes phone calls and appointments and schedules as requested.

· Other tasks as needed.

QUILIFICATIONS

 

Education 2-4 year full-time students with a background in administration, finance or related field.

Work Experience Previous internships at international organizations would be an asset.

Languages Professional fluency English, Ukrainian and Russian with excellent communication skills.

 

Other Skills • High level organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills.

•Ability to work in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

•Flexible, positive attitude, ability to work independently, ability to meet deadlines and multi task. Strong logistical skills and ability to pay attention to detail.

 

Remuneration: Allowance of 1600 UAH per month will be offered to the selected candidate. Peace Corps is not in a position to cover any expenses incurred by the intern during his/her stay in Kyiv nor reimburse travel expenses.

The internship does not constitute a commitment to future employment with Peace Corps Ukraine.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: A background security investigation will be required for all hires. Appointment will be a subject to the applicant’s successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication.
