18. Ann is always very understanding if you have a problem & will make you laugh when you are feeling down.

19. She is the kind of person who always acts logically when there’s a problem.

20. Mary always says what she thinks. This is usually a gold thing, but sometimes when she gets into an argument, she starts shouting & people get upset.

 

How can you characterize a person who

 

1. gives her or his last to other people / never lends you money?

2. likes talking with other people? / hates communicating?

3. looks on the bright side of things? / looks on the black side of things?

4. has a hide opinion of himself? / never praises himself?

5. easily flies into a rage? / never loses temper?

6. tells the truth to others? / cheats others?

7. is practical in approach to life? / dreamy in it?

8. finds a lottery ticket worth 10 hundred & returns it to the owner?

9. marries a girl & a month later starts a love affair with her best friend?

10. cancels an important meeting because of a bad dream last night?

11. comes to his friend’s birthday party without a present?

12. thinks that Shakespeare is a basketball player?

13. catches a thief in the street & brings him to the police-station?

14. always keeps a promise? / doesn’t remember things?

15. has good manners?

16. enjoys being with other people? / finds it difficult to meet new people?

17. shows his feelings easily?

18. worries & thinks too much about detail?

19. is interested in other people & their business?

 

Decide what kind of person said each sentence.

 

1. I watch only TV programs that teach me something.

2. I always thank people for presents they give me.

3. She often makes promises that she doesn’t keep.

4. I give money to anyone who asks me.

5. Jane doesn’t get annoyed or try to rush people.

6. I stayed with the company even when they treated me badly.

7. I’m much more adult & grown up now. Yes, I seem a lot more mature these days.

8. I never do anything usual or unexpected.

9. Ladies first!

10. I’ve got used to 10 hours work every day.

11. I’m always sorry for people who are in trouble.

12. I just love cucumbers with milk, Picasso’s paintings & freckled faces.

13. I can’t control myself when I should keep quite.

14. I don’t care for him. He is inferior to me, you know.

15. Whatever she may say, I won’t lose my temper.

16. Darling! I never drudge you anything, be it clothes, money, a car.
