Work as a group. Look at the pictures and say what these people do.

Think of the most popular jobs in the XX century and compare your answers.

3. Look at this list of jobs. Are they popular nowadays? Add any jobs you can think of and comment on their popularity.

5.a Work in pairs. Choose a job from the list above. Discuss what you can expect from good lawyers, teachers, doctors and write a short paragraph, like this:

Good are gentle and caring. They help people. They find the problem and make it better. They give good advice. You can ask them for medicines. (They are doctors).

 

5.b Give your paragraph to another pair. They have to guess which job you’ve written about.

6. Why do people work? Only for money?

In pairs make two lists. One should have all good things about work. The other list should have all the bad things about work. Which of your lists is longer? Discuss your lists in groups.
